Re: to PCI 424 or not to PCI 424
Could you not do the Bundle reconfiguration once, then Load the Bundles into your other projects? That could ease your pain substantially. It's easy to create am I/O map and even save it as something different. That's what I did when I was about to introduce the 2408 into the mix, but still wanted ...

Re: motu pci-e 424 -problem:The Audiowire card is currently in u
I realise this is an ancient thread but I have been getting this message myself (Windows 7, PCIe 424, 3x1224, 1x1208). It recurs on every boot-up. To resolve it I go to the Sound applet in Control panel, pick the MOTU channels that are set as default and open the Properties window. On the Advanced ...

Re: to PCI 424 or not to PCI 424
MOTU recommends external clock when trying to sync 3 or more interfaces. Yes they do. I have an external BNC clock device. Those directly connected to the 424 card are considered one interface in this equation. You are wanting to connect others as stand-alone via ADAT or FireWire. I see, that makes...

Re: M2 Installer Violates Code Integrity Policy on Win 11 Pro
A month later and I'm finally up and running. What I did to make it happen: 1. Turned off Smart App Control. Apps would finally install without issue. 2. Matt from MOTU responded to my support ticket. I was getting a scripting error during product activation of Performer Lite 11. He recommended ins...

Re: Adding another 828mk3 in 2024 for diasy-chain FW action
I can't seem to find it now that I'm trying to look for it, but there was a post here which outlined the steps on how to daisy chain multiple mk3's. I noticed in the manual yesterday that this could even be a thing, but on Windows, the manual doesn't say how this affects DAWs and I'm trying to sort...

Re: to PCI 424 or not to PCI 424
But, back to my initial question Currently: 2 828MKIIs (firewire). 2408 MKIII ADAT to 828#1. OR 424PCIe (with4 ports) & 2408 MKIII, audiowire. 2 828MKIIs ADAT back to 2408. Is either of these configurations better/more advantageous than the other? At the moment I've pulled the 424 card out, and ...

to PCI 424 or not to PCI 424
I've got a few MOTU devices, I've talked about them here before. I was running 3 828 MKIIs (FW), and that was a good working configuration for me. I picked up a 2408 MKIII and the 424 PCIe card locally because why not. It was cheap enough. I determined that in Studio One the PCIe card and 2408 show ...

Re: 828 MK II LEDs crap out..
My issue isn't with that display, it's with the LED meters to the right of that. For each channel that is active, there is a green (single) LED that shows you there is audio traffic. The Input meters over top of those light up whenever I'm recording or playing back from the PC since the Input to the...

Re: Trimmer in 828mk2 & 3
That may have something to do with the voltage regulator nearby. The trimmer is labelled P1 POT 1K underneath. But, the center leg (on my 828 MKII) seems to trace back to that group of components by the SPDIF connectors, so if it's C17 than it might be adjusting the frequency or clocking related to ...

Re: Windows 11 - 828 mk3 firewire
Haven't logged in for a while, so I hope this reply isn't too far out of date for you. I have 3 828MKII's (well actually 2 now.. one kicked the bucket). Win 10, Firewire. So, this answer relates to that (Win11 works here too I have tried it just decided not to stay that way). Preface... I was having...

Re: PLEASE HELP-Widows 10 Audio crackling and dropouts
I'm not really sure I have enough to go on from what you posted, but I'll take a stab at couple things. My suggestions are based on _my own_ experiences, and problem solving for issues I was having. I experienced similar audio issue at one time. A few things that I came across (and I've posted about...

Re: Windows software 828 & 2408 MK III
A while back I had been using a pair of older 2408s, they were unbalanced, with RCA connections for IN/OUT. One was set to ingest, one was set to playback. This worked, but there were level discrepancies. But I was familiar with making it work via ADAT. With the new(er 2408 MKIII I've set it up the ...

Re: Windows software 828 & 2408 MK III
I have a couple older 2408s (they have RCA connects) I know they work, one has to be set an ingest and one output. I had everything balanced, and all my cabling is rather well managed, rather not go back to that.. Turning into a bigger rabbit hole again though. A problem I had, and got rid of (audio...

Re: Windows software 828 & 2408 MK III
So, it looks like at the moment I have a bit of an issue . The PCIe card is working fine. The 2408 is working fine ( i think.. I haven't piped any audio through it, but it responds). My issue seems to be maybe not specifically with the hardware and drivers, but how Presonus Studio One sees the MOTU ...

Re: Windows software 828 & 2408 MK III
Thanks Mike... I plan on digging into this after work tonight. Will be interesting to see how the 2408 gets identified - the 828s come up as UNIT 1 & UNIT 2, but not in the order I'd have preferred (which I've since learned that the ID is hardcoded into the firmware and not changeable). It would...
