Importing stereo audio files from ProTools to DP
Greetings to all! It's been a while. I'm dragging stereo broadcast wave files from a ProTools session into a stereo DP 7.24 audio track. The stereo files in the ProTools folder are separated into left and right mono tracks. If I drag either the left or right mono audio file from ProTools into the DP...

Re: QuickScribe notation in DP6
Good question. I have written to MOTU numerous times asking for them, and I think others have too. No response. Seriously I can't imagine it would be all that complicated to do. That' my thinking too! Maybe they can do it with a plugin and allow it to work with previous versions of DP so they can m...

Re: QuickScribe notation in DP6
I haven't read all of the PT8 notation specs, but with such intensive Sibelius compatibility, one would think that such support would be more easily accessible. PT8 can export MIDI tracks to Sibelius format files, so they will intentionally limit notation features in an effort to promote sales of S...

Masterworks Leveler not behaving correctly!
Greetings everyone or anyone who's reading this. I haven't been on here in a while which is probably a good thing right? I don't know if anyone else has or is having this problem or let's say symptom. Here it is in a nutshell: I'm using DP 6.02. I use the MW Leveler on a track or two or more. I mess...

Problem creating an accurate Tempo Map.
Greetings! I've posted this on the Yahoo site as well. I'm using DP5.11 with a G5 dual 2.0, Traveler and UAD-1 card. I've imported an mp3 and analyzed beats in the sound-bite window. Then I analyzed the tempo. All went without a hitch. When I open the sound-file in the Waveform editor and selected &...

Best way to import an OMF file from ProTools?
Hi, What's the best way to import an OMF file into DP 5.11? I've had some luck choosing SDII file option when exporting from ProTools but I'm wondering if it would be better to choose the WAVE file option. I know ProTools calls them Broadcast WAVE files....are those the same as a WAVE file in DP 5.1...

Off-topic re-old samplers
Hi guys. I'm trying to import some old samples into DP5. I have a Triton pro. The samples are on old floppies from an Akai S-900, a Roland S350 or S550 (I don't remember) and maybe an Akai S-1000. My Triton won't read them. The question(s): Is there some software that can (1) read the old disk and (...

Wow. DP usually isn't so bad for 10 or 15 cents. But I think Melodyne is the best choice for heavy-duty pitch work. I don't own it, but I'm going to get it. The demos on their website convinced me. BTW, I'm also a woodwinds guy (went to North Texas a ways back) who originally got into this Mac/MOTU...

I agree with toodamnhip... Dp's pitch is very unreliable... all I have to do is select a pitch segment then click option-Space to audition the segment... 3 out of 10 times it plays a segment I pitch corrected back at the original unedited pitch... I don't even know how people are actually using it ...

Re: Convinced Pitch automation unreliable in real time
Being quite addicted to the new DP real time pitch automation, I still have certian reservations about it..but it is so damn convenient..isn;t it?.. It could surely SOUND better, it leaves artifacts way too easy compared to Antares and Melodine... But it is great for convenience when used in a full...
