Plug in order of software and hardware.
Hello All! Thank you James for keeping this site open! I've been ghosting every once in a while and there are always interesting problem solving suggestions. I don't feel smart enough for me to give suggestions, so I just look over everybody's shoulder. I haven't been doing a lot of work lately (mos...

Re: New MB Pro M2 Max- can't get MIDI Express XT to work.
Hi. I have an M2 Mini Pro and was having the same problem. I had to download the latest driver from Yamaha for my P250 piano and then connected my piano via USB.
It just about makes my MIDI Express dead in the water.
That’s how I fixed mine.
Good Luck!!

Ethernet file sharing not working.
Hi! I can't make my Mac ethernet file sharing to work between two older (circa 2010)Mac Pros. One machine is actually a mid 2009 4 core that I upgraded to a 6 core 3.46Ghz.32GB (master). The other Machine is mid 2010, (slave) 12 core 3.33Ghz, 64GB. The Model Identifier on both machines is 5,1. OS is...

Re: Do you want MOTU to develop notation apps? StaffPad-iPadPro
I've been with MOTU since the beginning with Performer 1 ('86??) MOTU had 2 notation programs back in the day. Composer was the first. It came out about the same time as Performer 1. Mosaic followed. I had them both. At the time I thought both were superior to Finale. They were quick and clean and v...

Re: Remote Recording Set up
Thanks for responding. I'm wondering how MOTU'S new Stage Box 16B with AVB would work. If I understand AVB correctly, I should be able to run an Ethernet cable from the 16B directly to my laptop. However, I would need an Ethernet to USB or Thunderbolt adapter to connect to my laptop. Does that sound...

Remote Recording Set up
Hi Everybody, It's been a very long time since I've been here. I want to put together a good, but simple remote recording rig. I want to be able to record sixteen tracks on to my lap-top (2015 Mac Pro) and then edit on my Mac tower (a hot rodded 2010). I prefer to stay with MOTU gear, but they have ...
