Re: Disappearing TAKES
Takes are really useful in MIDI tracks when experimenting with a different approach. It allows you to quickly and conveniently grab a specific measure or phrase from a previous version and paste it in place into a newer layer. If you use “duplicate take” you can experiment without worry. I have had ...

Re: DP11 and M1 Mac Mini
If the project is symphonic in nature, You might hit a peak of how many samples you can load. with some of the really deeply sampled orchestral instruments, you may need to render the woodwinds while you’re working on the brass, and then render the brass while you’re working on the woodwinds, purgin...

Re: DP11 and M1 Mac Mini
I’ve been running DP 11. 04 on the new M1 Mac Mini with about 90 mono audio tracks (24k) and several multitimbral virtual instruments.
I’ve been using performer since around 1986 and I can tell you that I’ve never had so much fun as this year.

Re: Which new Mac Pro is optimal for a DP DAW?
I’ve been running DP 11 beautifully on my m1 Mac mini under Big Sur.
kontakt and spectrasonics are working perfectly.
It’s the best, smoothest, most stable system I have ever had with performer since 1986.
Only drawback: 16 gigs of RAM.

Re: Using snapshots with MIDI plug ins
Clever indeed! I had earlier tried automating in effects record mode but no automation data was written into the track, or any behaviors acted upon. I also just tried your clever suggestion of automating the mutes, but still to know avail. These things work so easily with audio effects but there mus...

Using snapshots with MIDI plug ins
When setting offsets for a MIDI track using the timeshift plug-in, I see that the snapshot option appears to be available in the effects window. However, I have had zero luck with getting any information to appear in any of the edit windows using the snapshot feature with the MIDI time shift plug in...

Re: cc10 lost it's "special" status as MIDI pan
Is it just me, or do I remember correctly? Didn’t the view filter used to list mini volume and MIDI pan up at the top as separate items?
I don’t remember having to go down to the continuous controller menu to put them on a list.

Re: cc10 lost it's "special" status as MIDI pan
Yes, I do remember seeing that in the manual a while back. I couldn’t find it with a search of the PDF, but I did look in the mini menu as you recommended, and there was continuous data editing preferences. And just on a lark, I clicked the default button, and pan reappeared. So it really is intende...

cc10 lost it's "special" status as MIDI pan
Having upgraded from DP8 to DP11, I'm not sure exactly when cc10 lost it's "special" status as MIDI pan. I may have missed it years ago. It is no longer an easy shortcut in the view filter, or when drawing data in the MIDI window. One must select it from the list of 127 possible cc options...

Re: Mac mini M1?
I am running DP 11 natively on Big Sur on a m1 Mac mini and it’s running beautifully. About 80 audio tracks. My 828mk3 Is working and I’ve even got ip MIDI working on a network work. Only plug-ins so far are omnisphere and stylus. What's ip MIDI, Gauch? Yeah, plugins are the thing. It’s a type of “...

Re: Looks like I’ll get the intel Mac mini
That is my situation. Bad timing.
I may have to use logic for a few months on the m1 unless DP is stable in Rosetta.
