DP will do it automatically if you have memory cycle turned on (button on the transport control panel that looks like a loop with an 'M' above and to the left). Set the start and end markers for memory cycle, hit record, and DP will automatically create a new take each time it cycles around. I think...

Our term for comping with DP5 and earlier is "clunky but sooo much better than slicing tape"... can't wait for 6.

If you've got absorption stuff on the walls, can you turn this thing on end to knock out anything coming from above?

828mkII popping noise on startup

When I power up my 828mkII, it goes though its startup and just as it's finishing, my monitors make a horrible sharp popping sound. Any idea what this is and how I can stop it?

Much obliged,

Trey

Cuemix does not, unfortunately, control the level of audio being sent from the computer to the 828mk2... it only handles routing the inputs to the outputs. Thanks for the replies... I wasn't really hopeful about controlling the volume of the 828 via MIDI, but thought it was worth checking. Any sugge...

828mk2 MIDI implementation

Does anyone know if the 828mk2 itself is controllable by MIDI? I'm exploring a better solution for controlling volumes than reaching out past arm's length to my left, hunting for one of many same-sized black knobs, pressing once to make sure I'm not adjusting phones level, twirling tiny knob... you ...

I love mine. Warning/note: At first I had terrible issues. When I connected the Tranzport, CPU usage slammed up over 75% and stayed there. Computer just idlin', DP running but not doing anything. Forget about multitracking. I eventually tracked it down to the USB bus, and since the Tranzport was the...

My apologies to pappy725 - somehow I clicked your link (opening into a new tab) while reading the forum, and then totally neglected to actually READ it. Here's the text from MOTU: How do I hear the output of my DAW on more than one bus in CueMix? Each CueMix bus is a mix of: 1. The input sources tha...

Cuemix>File>Mix 1 Return Includes Computer Output Is this what you mean? I thought that might be the solution when I found it while trying to figure this out, but as far as I can tell, that sends Mix1 from the 828mk2 to the computer (via firewire), which is sort of the opposite of what I'm after. I...

That's why I'm halfway convinced that I'm missing something.

Anyone out there know why MOTU apparently designed it like this?

CueMix version is 1.4, apparently the latest one, as it has the talkback/listenback and control surfaces menu.

I'm wondering if there's a basic technique I'm missing here, something the designers at MOTU expected me to do to get the results I'm after, something obvious to someone else.

CueMix routing question

I'm using DP 5.12 on a 1.8ghz G5 Mac, OSX 10.4.1, connected to a Firewire 828mk2. I am trying to use CueMix to route separate mixes to my monitors and headphones (and I'd like to route a 3rd mix to a PA system across the room). This sounds like exactly what CueMix is for - all the ad literature gush...

Re: Behringer BCF2000 opinion

danworks - thank you so much! I was having a hell of a time with this thing, didn't think to add it as a MIDI device and attach it to the BFC2000 interface that showed up in AMS. However, it would NOT work until I updated my firmware to 1.07. (It gave me some interesting results, tho... the rotary e...
