Re: Motu 24 I/O malfuntion (disco lights)
I forgot to update this for the longest time - the "disco lights" on the Mk2 Traveler i had in were caused by wrong drivers. When i gave it back to the owner he had the same issue with the latest drivers. He then used the original CD that came with the interface and all the issues went awa...

Re: MIDI Express XT USB Problem - PANIC!!
There are tools specifically for removing such chips and they're quite cheap. With a screwdriver you have a large chance of cracking the socket, happened to me on a couple motherboards. Sure, it won't crack bad enough to lose connectivity, but enough to make you feel bad about it.

Does it work fine when not connected to firewire? If so, it sounds like a blown firewire interface chip to me. Send it back, at least you HAVE a warranty. I had to fix a Traveler Mk2 on my own.

On laptops for example you can't just change it... The real solution is to just disable PowerMizer and you are good to go. This i...

Re: MOTU Longevity & Hello
I'm curious about something - do they still include the disclaimer "be careful not to plug the firewire cable in reverse?" Because if the ports are done right it is IMPOSSIBLE to plug the cable in reverse. What i saw on this Traveler Mk2 i have in for repair, was wrong, wrong, wrong. And i...

Re: Motu 828 mk3 high pitched sounds and dropouts!
First of all make sure you are using a grounded outlet with your computer/laptop. I have a Traveler Mk2 in for repair and after replacing the firewire controller and soldering the firewire ports to the board so they don't split again, allowing the cable to be inserted in reverse, i found it extremel...
