Re: L.A.M.E 3.98.4?
I have downloaded 3.97 a few times with no luck. I am running DP6 on a new iMac with intels. When I open the LAME file it opens up Terminal and gives me the following error: "Downloads/LAME.framework/Versions/A/LAME: cannot execute binary file logout [Process completed]" What am I doing wr...

Re: Upgraded to Intels and DP6 - wont recognize old DP5 file
Thanks so much James - I'm dying to try this as soon as I can get back in.
James - as an update - zipping the files worked like a charm. Great advice. Thank you so much!

Re: Upgraded to Intels and DP6 - wont recognize old DP5 file
Not knowingly - but maybe so b/c I just dragged them to an external drive that my wife uses on a PC. Assuming this may be a problem? Should I just buy a new external drive, plug it in to the PowerPC and get the files again. Then transfer them to the iMac? Am I mising any steps? Really appreciate the...

Re: Upgraded to Intels and DP6 - wont recognize old DP5 file
Thanks for the replies. I changed the extension to ".perf" on my templates and they opened fine. However, when I try this with an actual session file I get the following error: "An error occured while reading from the disk. The file NAME.perf was not loaded. While reading audio file &...

Upgraded to Intels and DP6 - wont recognize old DP5 files
Hello - I recently upgraded from a G5 PowerPC running DP5 to an iMac with intels running DP6. I am not able to load any of my old sessions. I'm assuming (hoping) there has to be a fix? On the intel it shows all my old session files as "Unix Executable Files" but if I open the same ones on ...

Upgraded from 5 to 6 -wont let me record on old sessions
Works fine when I start a brand new template but if I open up a session recorded in DP5, it wont let me record anything new there. My inputs and outputs are set up correctly (same as when I open a new file) but for some reason it wont record anything. I dont see any signal coming in and the cursor m...

Re: Easy way to recover lost tracks?
Small update: All of the Analysis Files are in the new session folder. No audio though so I'm assuming I'm out of luck? Thanks for the replies.

Re: Easy way to recover lost tracks?
I didnt. In fact - I did a search on my computer and came up empty handed. The only audio files in that folder were the instrumental tracks that are present. Is this just b/c I did the save to a new location after recording? Will that happen everytime or am I missing something? Thanks.

Easy way to recover lost tracks?
I'm positive that this has happened to many of you so if I botch the description, I'm hoping you'll still understand my question. I'm running DP5. I recorded and saved over one of my templates last night. When I realized I did this, I resaved the session in a new folder and a new file name. However,...

Getting ready to upgrade my O/S - will DP be affected?
I'm not a Mac guy but do use DP and a Mac in my studio, so forgive my simple quesitons. I have a G5 with non-Intel processors running DP5. I am looking to upgrade to 7 soon but have the disks to upgrade my O/S from Tiger to Leopard now. I cant install Snow Leopard b/c I dont have Intels. However, I ...

Re: Gating vocals - do you use outboard gear or a DP plug?
I'm using Synheiser HD 380s - http://www.guitarcenter.com/Sennheiser-HD-380-PRO-Headphones-104992276-i1427306.gc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; To be honest, it may just be me being overly sensitive - or maybe even a bit bored. Now that my studio is looking/feeling and pret...

Gating vocals - do you use outboard gear or a DP plug?
I am running DP5 with a Focusrite Voicemaster Platinum pre and a B.L.U.E bluebird mic. I love the sound I am getting from the vocals but am getting way too much bleed IMO from the instrumental on vocal tracks. Its not from my monitors b/c my control room is seperated by 2 sets of sliding glass doors...

Is there a way to bounce the exact right amount of a session
I bounce in the Sequence window by clicking on the top right corner of the song and then dragging the mouse to the bottom left of the last track. However, often times I get too much dead air at the end or maybe even some things get prematurely cut off, i.e. if I had an echo on the last part of the s...
