Re: SPDIF Overload on 828 MkIII

Good idea - But no mix busses are active...
Any other ideas people?
Can anyone replicate it (- or un-replicate it) using loud RMS and peak PC files outputted through SPDIF?
Thanks!

Re: SPDIF Overload on 828 MkIII

Thanks for your reply. On the MOTU Audio Console on the PC, timing is set to internal. As far as I can see, the hardware reads the same. (As you would expect it to be controlled by the MOTU Audio Console.) Are you suggesting that this should be any other value, or is there some other setting on the ...

SPDIF Overload on 828 MkIII

Hi, I have an 828III and am using Windows XP. I have an issue where the SPDIF output always overloads when I get anywhere near to full scale. For example - If I limit a track to say -0.8db The meters on the software and on the hardware I/O for eg- headphones register fine, but the SPDIF output on th...

ntdll.dll Issue with 828-III

Hi, Since updating the driver, my machine throws up the error message: "The procedure entry point NtAlpcSendWaitReceivePort could not be located in the dynamic link library ntdll.dll" everytime the Cue Mix application is launched. Going back to an earlier driver didn't fix the issue. Any i...

Re: 828MkIII Digital Output Level causes clipping - Why?

Thanks for the reply. No. - No other kit. - Just a digital line to the next piece of kit (several tried) which clips with some tracks. I've tried it re-sampling, taking timing from the stream, and also taking timing from word-clock. - It seems to make no difference. Weird Huh? I can only imagine tha...

828MkIII Digital Output Level causes clipping - Why?

Hi, I have tried Toslink and SPIDIF outputs into various pieces of kit and get a consistent issue - I get clipping registering on the inputs of the receiving gear. This happens when playing std ripped CDs and also playing Spotify - so it's not my recordings! ;o) It is not possible to notice clipping...

828 Mk3 Wish list for Cuemix updates!

Hi, I love my 828Mk3 :D - it never puts a foot wrong and has amazing amounts of I/O... but... As good as the Cuemix is... I would really like to be able to more with the mixer. Currently I can only mix inputs to outputs. It is great to be able to save 8 mixes, but what I really want is to be able to...

Re: Optimum HW for new self build for an 828Mk3 ???

Well I got my Mk3 today - and Wow! - It has not put a foot wrong driver-wise. It needed the TI chipset card - but other than that - this is the most stable driver I have worked with since my faithful old Delta-1010. I am amazed that M-Audio and TC FW drivers are so crap when Motu seem to have this 1...

Re: Optimum HW for new self build for an 828Mk3 ???

Also - Could you confirm what Driver version you are using? There seem to be quite a few people complaining that the latest driver is not as reliable as previous ones. Does anyone know where I can find previous version drivers if I hit issues with the latest one?
Thanks!

Re: Optimum HW for new self build for an 828Mk3 ???

Thanks Billy - much appreciated! This puts my mind at rest a bit! ;o) It is very easy to think that there are no sucess stories when one reads so many negative reviews on the forum. It is good to know that it will work perfectly with a PC in some form. Can you advise what your MB and grahics card ar...

Re: Optimum HW for new self build for an 828Mk3 ???

Hmmm... 1 day, nine views, and no positive replies...
Have I bought a pup?...
Is it possible to use a Motu unit professionally?
- If so - what's the hardware of choice to do this?
Thanks!

Optimum HW for new self build for an 828Mk3 ???

Hi, I tried a couple of FW units from M-Audio and TC-Electronic with little success. Neither of them did what they said on the tin everytime without fail which is what I need. I know MOTU don't have the best name in the industry for their drivers, but I managed to buy an 828Mk3 cheap second-hand and...
