8Pre(fw) problem with OSX
I recently bought a used 8Pre(firewire version) and was very satisfied with it at first. It worked like a dream, simple to use and easy to watch:) But suddenly left channel was a little bit dim and very much distorted, like flanger. Right channel is ok. This computer is with El Capitan, same thing w...

Re: Masterworks Collection
Masterworks Plug-ins are only 32 bits, I think . Incorrect. The collection is 32 and 64 bit. Yep. http://motu.com/products/software/mwc/highlights.html How about with iLok? I wouldn't want to buy it as usb key. I have installed iLok License Manager as software for a few plugins. Anyone teste...

Masterworks Collection
Hi there, I'm considering whether upgrade my Waves update plan or buying Masterworks Collection. My needs are primarily LA-2 and LA-3 emulations. Has anyone compared these between Waves and DP? I'm running OSX El Capitan(10.11) and Masterworks Collection is quite old, will it work? I used to be a lo...

Re: OMF import (DP 7.22)
I have imported OMFs into DP since version 4.5. Usually everything works fine, sometimes not. I have used ancient Nuendo as omf tool, nowadays it is too old. Logic 8 is now my backup tool. Recently I had to go back to the DP4.5 to open files right. 5, 6 and 7 messed up the bites. But 7.22 still cras...

Re: OMF (all types and formats) crashes DP 7.21 on a dual G5
My ways to import OMF files are to try older versions of DP. Yesterday found out that I had to dig my old G4 and DP4 to get OMF imported properly. Of course I start with DP7, but if I have to, then 6, 5, 4 and 3 is still in te box... Long time ago I used also old Nuendo as omf tool, import an...

Re: Anyone still using original HUI with 7.2?
I tend to do so, that before clicking bank/preset(BCF2000) button I click mixer window. This way all the tracks in the sequence window stay visible. Of course then mixer window shows only 8 channels at time which are accessible through controller. That suits somehow my work flow, of course I would w...

Re: best audio interface for D.P.?
I've had 828 Mk1 a few years, got it cheap back then. It does everything I need with my DP's. It's robust, maybe ugly, but I kind of like it. I have different kind of preamps for multitracking. I have opened and cleaned it once, tightened the screws of the transformer, it made the occasional humming...

Re: DP is too clever with the Behringer BCF2000
Thanks for the answer. Command 8 have also some kind of stand alone MIDI controller mode, which is meant to be used with the other DAWs than Pro Tools. Anyone tried that with DP? How about the one fader packs like Presonus Faderport or Frontier Alphatrack? Can I see only one track at a time when wor...

DP is too clever with the Behringer BCF2000
I have used Behringer BCF2000 fader controller with DP 4.5, 5.12 and 6 and it works fine when set in BabyHUI mode. However, one thing has always bugged me...When I have more than 8 tracks, I would like to move left-right in the mixer window using controllers preset/bank buttons so that all the track...

Re: 16 bit OMF works not 24
You have to ask them export OMF as 16 bit file, then after sound editing you can bounce your mix as 24 bit...MIDI Life Crisis wrote:
If I get an HD movie to score with a 24 bit OMF, no go. Indy films are usually standard res (with 16 bit audio) and they come in fine as OMF.

16 bit OMF works not 24
I just found out that yesterday. I don't know what is the reason for this, but that was the only way I got it working. It's not ideal solution, but the job must be done. Before 24 bit sequences opened nicely, my system is exactly same(DP4.61), only change is the OSX updates. I don't know what kind o...
