Re: 64 bit Drivers

I really hope so too. There is a lot about the 828 mk2 that was useful to me. the M-audio unit is a compromise but at least it works.

Re: MIDI express 128 advice

This device has worked really well for me in both the 32bit XP and 64bit Vista environments.

Re: 64 bit Drivers

Hey - sorry to hear you are having trouble too. The M-Audio gear I bought works fine, first time, no problems with very low latencies in the 64 bit environment - so that's what I am using now. I raised a support ticket with MOTU and they have asked me to a) check the 828 still works in a 32 bit envi...

Re: New desktop with Vista 64. Wipe and install Windows 7?

Hi there,

Can you tell us more about the 828 to have working in vista 64? What model is it and does it use firewire or USB connections?

Thanks

Re: 64 bit Drivers

Final post for a while I think.

My M-audio 1814 will be delivered tomorrow and replace the 828 in my rack until Motu sort out the drivers for 64 bit operating systems.

Big shame, the 828 was ideal and I would like to use it again one day.

Re: 64 bit Drivers

OK - I now have a 64bit system setup and running very well -except for the 828. I tried to install the very latest x64drivers (3.6.8.1410) and came across the same problem as some others: you have to right click on setup.exe and run as administrator. After that, it seemed to go well - until I tried ...

Re: 64 bit Drivers

Thanks :)

I will let you know.

I use to use Sonar - up to version 5 then moved over to Cubase Studio 4 followed by Cubase 4 (the studio version wouldn't support external FX). Most recently I am using Reaper and have found this to be excellent.

Re: 64 bit Drivers

Hi Perhaps I didn't make it clear that it is Vista 64 I intend using rather than win7. I guess the reason for my post was that I am at the stage where I have to upgrade my ageing AMD based computer. It seemed like a good time to consider moving to 64 bit (I use a lot of orchestral samples and am get...

Re: 64 bit Drivers

Hi there - me again :-) I have checked on various forums now still not been reassured that the 828-2 USB can be made to work in a 64 bit environment. This is kind of frustrating and it's leading me in the direction of M-Audio gear. That's a shame because, aside from a slight buzz coming from the uni...

Re: 64 bit Drivers

Good advice and that's probably what i will do but I am still concerned about the 64 bit driver issue for th 828-2 usb. Does it work now? I like the MOTU hardware and would like to stick with it if I can.

64 bit Drivers

I have an 828 mk2 USB. It's currently running in a 32bit XP Pro environment and works well. If I move up to a 64bit OS should it be XP or Vista? Am I going to be able to make it work because, reading through this forum, it's hard to find anyone that has a stable setup withthis hardware in a 64bit OS...
