Re: Can I change the which type of CC with a key command?
Cool! I'm giving the Quick Keys application a trial, seems good so far.

Can I change the which type of CC with a key command?
Is there a key command, or can I set one up, to select from this menu?

Basically I want to be able to swap between drawing Volume, Modulation, etc. without having to go to my mouse every time. Thanks!

What makes DP better than competing programs?
I am not looking to start a flame war here. I understand that people's choice of DAW is 99.99% subjective. However, I would like to discuss what DP has that Logic Pro, for example, doesn't. I am also interested in the opposite — things that Logic has that DP doesn't. Have any of you switched from Lo...

A few questions about licensing and publishing
Hello everybody. I have jus recently started looking into the "business" side of my music, and I have a few questions that I'm just going to fire off and hope that someone has the answers. A little backstory: I've been working with a film production company as their composer for several ye...

Re: Automatically/programmatically name audio files?
I'm not sure how else you'd communicate to DP just what you want to name it. Maybe an iPhone-device into which you whisper "Siri, name this track Mondo Bondo." Hopefully the mic doesn't pick it up, or when Siri misstates it back to you: "Now deleting your Monday condo closure meeting...

Processing meter keeps peaking
Often times the Processing meter in DP will start going nuts, for no apparent reason - even when DP is just idling. Is there any way to tell what is causing that? It causes playback to clip and stutter, and the only way I've found to fix it is to actually restart my computer, which is of course a hu...

Automatically/programmatically name audio files?
Is there a way to tell DP, programmatically, how to name audio files when it's recording? I'd like to be able to have it put the timecode somewhere in the name of the audio file automatically, so that when I'm recording a bunch of stems I don't have to go through and update every one if the cue star...

Key Command for Auxiliary Counter
I discovered this great app (on my Kindle Fire) that I'm sure many of you have already discovered - "TouchDAW". It works great! My only problem with is that the counter is locked to the "Main Counter" in DP, which I have set to measures/beats/ticks. I like having the main counter...

Re: What are some of your favorite custom keyboard shortcuts
As I've mentioned before, I set "1", "2", and "3" to "memory cycle", "link selection to memory" and "Auto rewind" (not sure which order). That way, I hit "123" as if it were one button, and I instantly have a loop of whatever I'v...

Definitely seems to have cleaned it up enough so that I'm not bothered by it anymore.

Re: DP 8 and audio artifcacts
Thanks for the reply! Indeed, I had my buffer size set to 256, so I've switched it to 512 and will report back if it eases some of the clipping.
I will also repair permissions like you suggested.
Thanks again!

DP 8 and audio artifcacts
Has anybody found that DP 8 introduced an increase in "clipping" noises during playback? I can only say for MIDI but I wonder if it's the same for audio as well. I don't mean the type of "clipping" that happens when the input/output gets overloaded, I mean clipping noises that DP...

What are some of your favorite custom keyboard shortcuts?
I know this is highly dependent on each person's workflow, but I thought we could share some custom keyboard shortcuts we've added that you think a lot of people could find useful.
I'll limit my answer to something very general:
Cmd+Home = Bring All to Front

Re: How to keep chunk tempo when making song for live play??
Don't mean to sound rude - but you say "without using the Conductor track"... but that's the whole point of the conductor track, to store tempos, meters, clicks, and other things a "conductor" might keep track of. Why can't you use it?

DP8 - "Processing" indicator constantly spiking
When I first started using DP8 all seemed well, but now I'm noticing that the "Processing" indicator is constantly spiking when the program is just sitting there not doing anything. I have 16GB of RAM and a 3.2 GHz i3 processor in my iMac, and am running DP in 64-bit mode. Even when I disa...
