I tried it both with firewire power and also with the external power supply... but it wouldn't work...

I have identified my problem... the ultralite is not giving me phantom power for my mic's.. is there some kind of setup to get it going?.. ( I moved the little switch in front, but to no avail).. is my ultralite broken???

The mic does need the phantom power... and I have the little switch in the front panel to the setting that is supposed to provide it... I will try to record with a powered mic, ( how can I check if the voltage is being provided?)
