GROUSE in Dublin wrote: I've always found it a little strange the way VI's are handled in DP, having to essentially have 2 tracks before you can work. One for the MIDI information and the other holding the instrument. I tend to stay away from "Add Unassigned" (DP 5.13 Project- Add Track- I...

Re: Shotgun marriage of MIDI to audio
How are you running things? Is your Kurzweil running in and out of your computer or is it going through a mixing board? What set up are you using, if you tell us what your using we can be of more help. Are you running into a mixer board and what are you using to get from your computer to it? Check ...

Re: Shotgun marriage of MIDI to audio
First MM you are being a bad monkey, good thing it went well. It is hard to tell just what you did that made things so bad from what I read here. More information would help but I am going to take a shot in the dark any ways. You say iTunes sounds bad, are you talking about just the songs yo...

Doh! I guess you're not him after all; he lacked your sense of humour. Poor chap - all that heat/curry-rash scratchin'... Yes, I do have a great sense of humor. In my last magazine article [unpublished] I ascribe authorship to Patricia J.Gnash. Why? Because it's titled, "Oprah and Her Gnaughty...

pajama nash [Shooshie's truly funny moniker for my pjmnash user name], like Winston Churchill does NOT quit! Patricia Jean Nash has a shotgun wedding with her physical therapist today but she printed out everyone's reply and takes it with her to read and reread. She is amazed at the knowledge other...

Shotgun marriage of MIDI to audio
Hi! I seem to have a shotgun wedding of MIDI to audio tracks. MIDI refuses to record unless accompanied by its audio mate, so I accommodate by officially marrying MIDI #1 to audio track #1 and having two tracks of the same data--well, almost. Then MIDI track #2 refuses to speak unless married to an ...

Re: Getting past the "Church Modes"
Wow! You ARE Obssesive-Compulsive with Scales! I'm in the mode for love--even when it's mixolydian. ." Is this your MIDI life crisis? I suppose you can even Tuna Fish? I use the church modes too. Even have the Liber Usualis. (It's in Latin--but it's all Greek to me.) I also tend to overly gathe...

Yes, The Guild! Noticed Shooshie is co-moderator of the DP forum with over 8,000 posts! Better than a guild of lawyer DPers--like a Johnny Cockran who'd even find that missing Michael Jackson glove? Find that connection I failed to make? Abiliy to leap tall buildings with a single leap? Put the rhy...

Why no playback audio?
Help! I'm converting some old bluegrass performances and running my cassette deck into my M-audio. I have soundbites but can't play them back. Curiously, I'm getting sound by playing the deck through DP and CAN record but can't play back Here's status: Audio system can only be heard through MOTU, no...

Re: Hire Tech 2 set up DP working for stroke survivor in DFW
What a Stroke of Luck I found you! I am the stroke survivor: I have: M-audio interface, Mac Mini Kurzweil K-2000 DP 5.13 I have a annoyingly poor memory as to what I did last time that made things work. I burned my first CD of an original 'classical' work last Saturday now can't remember how I made ...

Checklist for Record enable audio?
I'm trying to figure out why my track won't let me record enable or record. I keep checking transmit/receive etc and my interface is listed on the track sheet but what's wrong?
Could someone please list a checklist of Go i.e. Record precedures?
Thanks,
The lady in Texas

Hire Tech 2 set up DP working for stroke survivor in DFW
Hi! :D I'm new to MAC & DP and also a senior citizen who survived a major stroke. I'm a retired musician and very adept at composing from score and playing violin etc. but I am an idiot savant (I guess) lacking a flowchart mind! I can't even get set up for audio and recording--never mind...
