I meant the FW console. It should show up on the 896 (I had one, too!) In the control panel you need to set up the MOTU as your main sound card. After I did so all programs will see the MOTU as it's device.

I have gotten GoldWave to record my 896HD at that rate. Did you load the driver. Try reinstalling it. If you don't have it you can get it at MOTU's web site.

What program/DAW are you using? In the cuemix you need to set the output to Main to hear the inputs but, in your DAW/firewire console you need to assign the main out as the main out! In WMP you set that in the control panel as your main outs. Hope that helps.

That problem stopped for me when I disabled 1394 off of the network. Here is something to try. I run a short AES/EBU cable out of #2 into #1. It allows me to monitor #2 in my cuemix . I use #1's outs into my headphone amp but, it also clocks out of the AES/EBU port. That might help your clocking iss...

IS the echo input button depressed in Sonar? I'm using Sonar5 pe. You have to have a track/w MIDI and your softsynths inserted recieving MIDI and then an audio track for the output of the softsynth. The audio track's output has to be sent to the Ultralight and the input echo button has to be depress...

Start>Control Panel>Network Connections. It will show that the FW (1394) is enabled as a network device. Right click and go to properties and disable the device. It will not shut off the FireWire just disable it from the network. Windows will poll the device to check for network activity. Those inte...

I used to have the same problem with my 2 896HD,s. I traced my problem to the firewire card bridged to my network. I disabled it off of the network and the pops stopped. It seemed that the computer polled the network and the second HD would lose it's clock. Another trick I came up with is I AES/EBU ...

The built in MIDI sounds are contained on the onboard soundcard or a Sound Blaster type card. When you switch to the MOTU converter you have no onboard MIDI sounds. You would need a general MIDI module to play them.

CueMix doesn't work on that interface. I believe that only the newer interfaces have that feature.
