Re: Is a MOTU worth buying for a windows user??
I decided to go with M-audio. It had very similar features but no complaints about running with windows. So that is what I need. Thanks for the advice to stay away from MOTU for windows. I would have liked to have their interface but I don't need the headaches. Fail. The MOTU unit is higher quality...

Re: Ultralite MK3 Audio Dropouts followed by High Pitch Noise
Take a good look into your BIOS and disable everything onboard that you aren't using. Disable features like bus spread spectrum unless you're experiencing EMI problems. Make sure the OS is optimized for audios. There are various guides around the net. Control Panel -> System -> Advanced Tab -> Perfo...

Re: Ultralite and Win7
My Ultralite Mk3 installed without a hitch on Win7 RC 7100 x64. It has run smoothly except for 1 random blue screen (in 2 weeks of use) that referenced the MOTU drivers, but that's acceptable for a beta OS.

Can the 3.6.7.0 drivers be used with Mk3 units?

Re: I'm sad today! My Ultralite MK3 is going back for refund.
Nice write up. I was surprised when I found out I couldn't control CueMix parameters with my MIDI controller. Its whack. I doubt there's some hardware limitation that forced them to only allow Mackie control rather than MIDI. I was looking forward to being able to control its EQs while performing, b...

Re: Ultralite MK-3:Highpitched noise thoughts summary?
This is the response to my Ultralite-mk3 techlinks post about this issue: What Firmware version does the 828Mk3 display when you first power it on? The most recent version of the Firmware is version 1.06. If yours displays an earlier version you should down load the 828Mk3 Firmware update from the d...

Re: FIX: Running Motu FW devices in XP SP2, SP3
I have 22 processes running when idle, including task manager. From that point, I launched Foobar2000, pressed play, launched a plain-text editor and started typing. I still experienced very small drops (still using the Firebox). I used all the files from the zip you posted when I originally reinsta...

Re: FIX: Running Motu FW devices in XP SP2, SP3
Sure you found the right specs? I'm using Windows XP SP3 not Vista. I'm pretty sure I completed the steps correctly. Current driver versions listed in device manager for my firewire controller: 1394bus.sys: 5.1.2600.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920) ohci1394.sys: 5.1.2600.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920) These have ...

Re: Motu Ultralite MK3 No Sound / High Pitch Noise VIDEO!
Why do you say that? The system is well maintained and is as responsive as a new system. I'm willing to reformat and do a stripped down XP install, but I'd like to exhaust all other solutions first. Is there anything else to try?

Are you sure the update is meant for the Ultralite? Looking at their download section, I don't see any updates for the Ultralite Mk3

Re: FIX: Running Motu FW devices in XP SP2, SP3
Tried this as a last ditch effort to fix audio dropouts and high pitched noises on my Ultralite mk3. No luck. I had to use a slightly different method than listed in the first post because even after uninstalling the 1394 controller in device manager, renaming the cab files and RARing them up, and d...

Re: Motu Ultralite MK3 No Sound / High Pitch Noise VIDEO!
I'm having the same problem with the dropouts + high pitch noise. This is ridiculous and I'm going to have to return the unit if it isn't resolved soon. Anyone know if this issue is specific to the Mk3s, or are original Ultralites effected too? I'm running an older self built system containing an At...

Ultralite mk3 drops & squels: increase when typing
I recently purchased an Ultralite-mk3, and like many of you, I'm having a problem with the audio output occasionally dropping for a second, followed by a high pitched squeal of a similar length. This happens when making music in my DAW (Live 7) as well as when listening to music or watching a movie....

I have that problem with my Ultralite mk3, which doesn't have an optical I/O :\
