Re: Help me Understand the "freeze selection" feature
You know this is going to be a long list, right? Let me take a look.. So Early 2008 Mac Pro 2 x 2.8 GHz quad core 8 GB of ram... snow leopard The buffer was set to 2048... anything higher is grayed out.. I'm using an Ensemble. Haven't touched the multiplier. I've got 5 FM8 instances One Absynth Inst...

Re: Help me Understand the "freeze selection" feature
Thanks guys Hmm... Ok.. so I guess maybe there's a couple of things I don't get and a one glaring problem there seems to be no way around? I have pre-gen set up as the default.. but I wonder if doing the 32-64 bit bridge would mess with this, or what... cause it seems like I'm not doing THAT much an...

Re: Besides Omnisphere, recommendations for any VI's....
Seems to me that the FM8 would be an obvious choice... I mean just think Brain Eno and the DX7, right?

Re: moving into mavericks & DP8
I have a duel boot system.. for snow leopard and Maverick and I find that there's lots of plugins that just wont work in Maverick and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with if they are 32 or 64 bit.. other then the fact that if they are 64-bit they were probably made so more recently and there ...

Help me Understand the "freeze selection" feature
I'm coming up against the limitations of my computer's power in a most painful way and thus forced to explore this freeze selected track feature and its not really making sense to me. The last time I used such a feature was on Cubase SX3, back in the day, before I switched to DP... so maybe I'm just...

Re: What reverbs do you like to use with DP?
Altiverb is my desert island reverb.. its been a long honey moon for me. After that.. it tends to depend on just what's in my plugin folder: It seems like with this or that bundle or upgrade I keep getting more reverbs then I sorta know what to do with.. and sometimes I'll try out a freeware reverb....

Plug-in troubles
I just bought Melodyne Studio.. and had some problems.. it caused nothing to work.. one of the problems was when DP examined the plug-in, it had problems and wouldn't load. Eventually DP stopped examining the plug-in.. now that it looks like I have Melodyne properly installed.. DP is still not exami...

Good points.. I was kinda thinking along those lines. Right now what I'm doing is working on this project.. rather linearly.. where I start from the first note and keep going, more or less, till the last note.. and every once and a while I'll want to render out a version to share with people.. as a ...

Thanks guys I've been using DP for ages, but as a secondary DAW.. so I still have a long way to go with it.. I'm coming from Cubase, Reason, and Ableton Live.. I appreciate the utility of being able to freeze tracks, but why you would need to prior to rendering out I don't understand.. I mean what i...

Hmm, that might be it? That sounds like a less then ideal work flow... you didn't have to do that in DP 4 anyway? But then what would also be strange is that in the past I wasn't able to bounce stuff that had recorded audio in it? But then perhaps I was just flaking out somewhere else? Anyway, thank...

well so far in this project it's all electronic, all Kontakt and NI's Piano sample player thing.. so there's no actual recorded audio in the project.. though I've had this problem since I started with this current set up.. where I have used to 828, and had audio and all the rest of it. I do select e...

Mix down trouble
As far as I know I'm doing everything right.. but when I go to bounce to disk.. the resultant files have no audio in them, why could this be? I've new to DP 5.. didn't have this problem with the last version I was working with.. DP 4.. but a certain amount has changed since then.. for instance I've ...
