never mind. figured it out.

I'm running the latest drivers, 3.6.8.1170, and the latest firmware: 1.05

In Vegas Pro and Soundforge, I get the option to select the ASIO drivers, but when I attempt to play I get an error:

An error while starting playback.
A device is not available.

Any ideas?

Uninstalled old drivers, manually uninstalled every reference to MOTU from the registry, followed instructions above to the letter.

Still have the squeal.

This hardware is junk.

Finally !!! I also installed the 3.6.8.1170 audio driver from the V3HD driver patch on my 828mk3. I had the same problem. You have to be running the latest drivers before you can install the latest firmware. Install the latest driver and the firmware updater will be able to detect the 828.

I've updated the firmware (828v105), and the latest drivers (3.6.8.1). I'm still getting horrible squealing every 10 minutes or so.

Is a workable firmware/driver update coming soon?

Is ANYONE running a 828mk3 successfully at this point?
