Re: DP 8.03 WIN OUT NOW!
The 8.03 update solved my "not responding" errors when closing, on two computers. Additionally, it solved my problem with "drag and drop" MIDI from Addictive Drums and EZ Drummer. The application appears to be fairly sturdy at this point. I will continue to play with it...

It does take a while to get used to the DP idea of workflow, but once you do, you can be very productive. You can find the PDF files here (with a default installation): C:\Program Files\MOTU\Digital Performer 8.0\Resources\English.lproj\Digital Performer Help\pdfs Seriously, 30 days is plenty of tim...

Re: Appearance of Help Tags seems very inconsistent & sluggi
This is due to the lag time introduced by loading the tool tip "series" from disk. It is common practice not to automatically load tool tips into RAM, so that an application will not use excess RAM for something that may not be needed very often. Also, there is a "built-in" delay...

Re: DP not closing on exit !
I have the same problem (not exiting cleanly) on two machines. One uses a Focusrite ASIO driver, and the other uses an Avid ASIO driver. Both display a "not responding" error, and the process cannot be killed with Task Manager. Only a reboot will clean things up. Both of these boxes are us...

Same result here. The full BFD2 plugin does the same thing. Same message, too.

Hard crash with 8.02 and Win 7 drag and drop
Attempted to drag MIDI clips from Addictive Drums into DP MIDI track. Major crash. Tried the same thing with Superior Drummer with same results. Managed to send a crash report the second time. I glanced at the info, and it seemed to have crashed the MS C++ lib stuff. Bare bones tracking just to try ...

Re: New iMacs-no superdrive
You can buy an external DVD drive/burner for $30-50 that would work fine with the new iMac. I have one for those rare times that I need it...

Re: New Track 16 interface and "tape hiss" problem
Are you using balanced cables into balanced plugs? Apparently, there are both balanced and unbalanced on the Track 16.
If your monitors support balanced input, use all balanced connections and cables.

They have a free version and a demo of the full version. I use it quite a bit, though I have not tested it with DP6.
