Re: Transferring DP projects from Mac to Windows
Apparently, given the absence of posts on this thread, there is no simple way. So, here is the "solution" I found for myself. Fortunately, the hard drives in my old MacPro are still working. I got hold of an old MacBook Pro and connected the drives externally via firewire. Boot the MacBook...

Transferring DP projects from Mac to Windows
My 2007 Mac Pro recently died and I decided to replace it with a PC. I somewhat regret this decision now and wish I had paid the extra grand for a new Mac. But that's another story. What I really wanted to ask is how to get all my DP projects created on the Mac to work properly on the new PC. All th...

I realize that people have different ways of working and DP obviously works great for some. I haven't been using it long, so maybe I will eventually get used to it. My habits have obviously been formed by the sequencers I used previously (Sonar, Samplitude, etc) which always show the grid whether sn...

Re: Graphic editor grid snapping
Scotch on the command key? I was hoping for a more "high-tech" solution! If there is really no other way to do it, I have to say that MOTU have just got it completely wrong. Having notes locked into the grid is mechanical and unmusical. Trying to edit MIDI without a grid for reference is ...

Graphic editor grid snapping
On the whole I am very impressed with the DP graphic editor. However, there is one problem: when you switch off grid snapping, the grid disappears entirely (except for barlines). For me, this is quite infuriating. To my mind, the whole point of having a grid is to use as a reference while editing fr...

Lost plugin windows
A simple question with a simple answer, I hope: If I accidentally close (click on triangle in top left) a plug-in window, how can I get it back again? The plug continues to function even if the window isn't there and it isn't listed under the WINDOW menu. Problem is that now I cannot change any of t...

For the record, here is the response I have just received from M-audio: This is a known issue with Mac OS 10.4.10 and we are currently working on an updated driver to resolve this issue. Updated drivers will be available shortly from our www.m-audio.com website Regards Richard UK Tech Support M Audi...

OK, I've filed a report with M-audio tech-support. Let's see what they come up with. Just to recap in case anybody is still following this: I cannot get any audio signal from DP to the Audiophile outs, even though the level meters in DP indicate that audio is being sent, and the software return mete...

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the inbuilt audio was only 2 channels (one stereo pair). At the minimum I want a 4 channel set up that enables me to use the analog out (master) and digital ports (send/return) independently. Am I right in assuming that the inbuilt digital ports on the Mac simply mirr...

Thanks for all your helpful input. I haven't had much chance to investigate the problem further since last posting, but one thing I have noticed is that I also lose audio after bouncing in DP. Clicking reset in the soundcard control panel clears the problem immediately. Basically I need a simple goo...

Thanks for your replies. Could anyone recommend an alternative audio interface? Preferably, I would like something in the same price/feature range as the Audiophile. Should I go for a MOTU instead? I have had good experience using Echo on Windows. What are they like on Mac? If it really is an interf...

Thanks for your reply. I had a look at the bundles window and discovered how to add outputs so that all the physical outs of Audiophile are available in DP. That in itself is a little progress. But it makes no difference to the main problem. However, I have discovered one way of overcoming the probl...

DP with Firewire Audiophile - no audio output
I am new to both Digital Performer and to Mac. Previously I have used PC audio software such as SONAR and Samplitude. If someone could sapre a little time to help me I would be most appreciative. For some reason, I am unable to get any consistent audio output at all from DP. I am using an M-audio fi...
