MIDI configuration problem(s)

Hello, I use DP 5.1.1 on an Intel Mac, with a RME Fireface 400 audio and MIDI interface. In a MIDI track, when clicking on the "output" drop list, the only choice is the "IAC driver". I would like to use the Fireface MIDI output ; how can it be done ? In the OS X "audio MIDI...

How does "^X" keyboard shortcuts work ?

Hello

I often have lots of short sounds to export to disk. The keyboard shortcut for bouncing to disk is "^J". It doesn't seem to work on my computer, maybe because it's a french keyboard. "shift-key" shortcuts work, but not "exposant-key". Any idea ?

Hi Julien If it can help to answer to your 3rd question/sugestion : If you select any soundbite in S.E., then : - "Command + 4" starts play from begining of the soundbite - "Command + 6" starts play from end of the soundbite - "tab" selects next soundbite - and so on.....

Hello, I am very new to DP, I made only one project with it, and moreover I didn't have the time to read all this topic. I am almost sure that what I am writing here has already been suggested before, but ... who knows ? When it comes to audio editing, there are 3 things that you find in most DAW so...

(cut) snap to zero crossing

Hello,

When splitting mono files, is there an option that automatically puts the scissors (and other editing tools) on zero crossings only ? I couldn't find it in the manual ...

Hello everybody I'm sorry to anwser so late, but I had lots of things to do ... Well, actually I never thought normalizing would be so problematic. In the past, when a "song" was 100% finished, I used to normalize it to 0 dB in order to use full digital scale for dynamics. Indeed, even if ...

I don't need more loudness and I want to keep the peaks.
Normalizing is only for using all the digital scale.

Re: normalize question

Hello, c. keep the file without normalizing as nobody will notice the difference This one. Why would you want to normalize? What are you trying to achieve? Why do you want it SO close to 0? By a "new track" do you mean a full mix, or just an instrument? I meant a full mix or final mix (th...

normalize question

Hello, I have finished a new track and wonder about normalization. Everything was recorded to DP or Max/MSP in 44100 Hz / 16 bit resolution, then edited in DP. During all this time, all input or output levels were kept to 0 dB (no change). The peak level of the track is nearly 0 dB so it's still pos...

I don't want to be an As***le , but when I read these kind of questions the first thing that comes to my mind is ; " wasn't there a 1089 pages manual that came with DP when you purchased it " Yes, actually 1074 pages + 14 blank pages at the end, it's a great manual and I think I read it a...

A few questions after two weeks of use

Hello, I will soon finish my first track made with DP. This is a long track (about 20 minutes), but besides some minor importing problems (see the topic about importing) I could do all that I wanted, so I am really satisfied with this software. Especially, I was quite amazed about how you can adapt ...
