The MME may be MOTU's move towards wave rt drivers in Vista, most of the wave rt drivers I've encountered use MME, which is not like the old MME in Win 98

Start by removing the pci firewire card and put it in a different slot. You have a device or driver conflict. That is why it works the first time but after that when you reboot it crashes. If you know how to check in your device manager (Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager) look for y...

No disrespect to Brad but I've been running Sonar 7 on a Toshiba Qosmio F45 with the ultralite for months with no problems. I even use the ultralite to run Amplitube Live in a live setting (with an FCB1010 foot pedal) and the Toshiba only has a four pin data firewire port. I use the wall wart and ru...

If your laptop has the extra power it should be fine, but in my experience the cardbus may need its own external power if its supplying the ultralite. My toshiba only has a fourpin (data only) fw port and I use the ultralite with its wallwart, but the HP's are kinda powerful so there's a good chance...

The Belkin is a good product.

Used it on an older HP that had a VIA firewire and it worked fine (with only 512 ram).

Try the Asio4all drivers.

I would start by cleaning out all the drivers and inf files for your ultralite. Run thru the registry and clean it out as well, then re-install the ultralite. What service pack are you running (I assume in XP since this is the pc thread)? Seems like there was a service pack update that either hosed ...

Just for the record I have a 10k raptor and technically it was a waste of money (per gigabyte), the newer large harddrives at 7200 rpm have no serious thru-put issues and price per size are a better deal.

After a thorough examination it seems that my Ultralite seems to be defective. Anyone knows where I can get it checked and repaired? How exactly did you determine this? If you have the wrong firmware on your ultralite (say running 64 bit in a 32 bit os) it will not appear. I have had a couple of ti...

I've been using motu under Vista (both 64 bit and 32) on both a laptop and a DAW without any problems.

I use the ultralite in a live situation from a Vista laptop running Amplitube Live and Ableton as well.

No problems.

TI chipset and you will be fine (if firewire is an issue)

I'm using Vista, and the way I record latency is not an issue, for the record I also use the laptop in live situations running NI Guitar Rig 3 thru the ultralite, it works fine for about 2 hours then I need to reboot for some reason, currently I don't care that much but I will sort it out soon.

I have managed to get rid of the pops and clicks: I use the onboard FW on the laptop (its a TI) even though its only a 4 pin connect. The pain in the arse I had to go thru was discoverying that the laptop would not discover the motu if it was running on batteries, I suppose the fw port even though i...

Running the new drivers in Vista 64, Sonar 32 (so I can use the plug-ins)

Everything working fine.

Be sure to check your techlinks as "in progress" may require a response from you.

They will give you a link to the beta drivers which seem to be working.
