AFAIK, the FULL install disks of Leopard were "FAT" binaries... meaning both the INTEL and PPC code is in there... the machine just chooses which one to run. Not sure if it would work with the install disks that COME with an INTEL, but the short answer is yes... an install of 10.5 on a PPC...

Three days of HARD use and NOTHING! YAY! The only problem I had was traced back to a stupid error on my part. I've even got my Glpyh's back online and no squeals... Almost like having a new piece of gear!

Have you tried the latest firmware and driver updates? (1.06 and 1.48 respectively)? Like Night and Day now as far as my mk3 goes...

Haven't had the squeal with the new driver/firmware yet... but I haven't been working hard on the system. The show I'm scoring is back in production so I'll report back if I have any problems in the next few days with heavy use...

No entirely true. I've gotten AAF files from P/T and I believe Media 100 and Avids that don't work in DP, or at least didn't under the DP version I was using at the time. Certainly that was NOT DP 5.13 so maybe those were fixed, but in 5.11 I still couldn't open AAFs reliably, nor could I import OM...

The problem isn't DP (which opens AVID and FCP AAF's just fine) but Premiere... Under the Apple choose "About This Mac" then click on "More Info". In the system profiler check under Firewire to see if the interfaces are even seen by the FW port (they'll show up as devices with weird names). If they ARE, then it's a software issue... Try uninstalling any driv...

Just installed it - definitely fixes the output issue. Sadly the "squeal" still seems to be happening - although I just did a reset so we'll see it it's a "leftover". I HAVE noticed that the squeal only occurs when the CueMix FX software is open, so it may be a software issue.
