Re: MIDI stops working after about a minute

Thanks, yeah. It's weird. Especially given that the interface worked fine with my older G4 that I've been working on until I got the new iMac. I'll try another interface and see what happens.

MIDI stops working after about a minute

So, I just got a new iMac and was very excited to test out DP 6.02 on it. Everything rocks on it until.... after about a minute, the MIDI stops working. When I quit and reopen, it works fine — for about a minute. Same result in the standalone version of NI Massive. Everytime I open a program, the MI...

Thank you all for the good advice. Deleting and then reinstalling the M-Audio drivers did the trick.
I'm not too impressed with M-Audio, myself. But I am very impressed with all the helpfulness and know-how I see on this board. Thanks again.

AACK! MIDI just stopped working!

I'm experiencing a very nasty thing here: My MIDI won't work at all, suddenly (and of course these sort of things only happen at really bad times). My setup: Dual G4 867, OS 10.4.9., DP 5.11, MIDIMAN 4x4 driving an Access Virus C and a Korg MS 2000r, MOTU 828 audio interface, M-Audio Radium controll...

Cool project! I did something similar once, and found it to be a very fun endeavor. First thing I'd say is try time-stretching small bits of vocals to their limit. You can get all kinds of neat digital effects this way. Tweak, tweak, tweak! Also, try working with individual sylables. The "s&quo...

yeah, like reason or ableton live do, where you can basically assign any function to any MIDI controller. That would probalby be my number one desire about DP.

MIDI control of plug-in parameters?

Okay, maybe I'm missing something obvious here, but I haven't been able to figure this out. Is there a way to control parameters of effects using MIDI controllers? For instance, I'd like to sweep the frequency of an eq using the modwheel of my keyboard. Is there a way to do this?

I'm looking at EastWest Gold right now. I have a dual G4 867 with1.25 Gig RAM. Do you think this would be sufficient to run it, or would it get bogged down easily?

dbudde wrote: You did say you bought a MOTU interface in your initial post, right? So it should have come with AudioDesk. I fail to see why you felt a need to pirate this software to try it out.
Not that it matters terribly, but because AudioDesk does not have MIDI features, which is my primary interest.

If you think it's OK to pirate software whatever the justification, why did you post this anonimously? Didn't mean to post anonymously; but I've added my web address to my signature, if that's an issue. And yes, I think that software "piracy" is not as clear-cut as the rather self-righteo...

God, you guys are harsh! Let me personally share that, while in college, I bought a MOTU interface, but didn't have enough money at the time to buy DP, and furthermore, having never used it before, didn't know if I wanted to buy it. So I pirated a copy of 2.7, fell in love with the software, and whe...
