ULTRALITE MK2 : use the mic ins as 1/4 jack for synths?
Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to use the 2 mic inputs of the ultralite mk2 as mono 1/4 jack inputs for my hardware synth (DSI Tetra), as I need more than the 6 rear-side analog inputs, because the tetra outputs 4 jacks, and I need at least 4 more for other gear... I didn't try because I'm aw...

Re: DP7 with Ableton Live for composition?
 snow is coming next week in my town BTW... I'll have some time to read Digital performer 6 Power! Begginning to really like this forum (I'm a lot on ableton forums, love that place too, despite the unmoderated philosophy that often allows lots of trolling, but we laugh a lot right there...

Re: DP7 with Ableton Live for composition?
I'll be fine with single MIDI clips/files.
I checked that and, of course, you all were right, (un)ableton is unable to export standard MIDI files. Sorry if I had to verify by myself (I was pretty sure that was an option)
Thanks a lot for all your feedback

Re: DP7 with Ableton Live for composition?
Well thanks to all of you for this interesting replies and interest. :D One thing I would say to the OP is that once you have DP you may end up using Live less and less. Live is great for trying out completely new arrangements in real time without affecting the original and also if you use loops pla...

Re: DP7 with Ableton Live for composition?
would it be possible to real-time record MIDI coming from live into DP? (via rewire, or other stuff) if not, isn't it possible to save live MIDI clips (i.e, on the desktop) and then import them into DP? I'll investigate this furthermore... Indeed Live is really fast at doing simple audio manipulatio...

Re: The perfect ducking compressor?
Sonic State sidechain compressor is free and I find it great for electro music ducking stuff, not perfect, but... FREE
but I didn't compare to many others, so I may not be a good advisor...
I've heard also that Voxengo crunchessor is really good and cheap...
ok, I'm out

Re: DP7 with Ableton Live for composition?
cool to hear that  I've got a couple of questions: -since you bounce your live tracks, you don't really need any rewire link, so why do you rewire the 2 apps? (perhap's do you do a kinda "progressive bounce & import", only when live's tracks are definitively ok, then having still...

Re: Buying DP update from non-MOTU vendor?
Well, same here at DV247, really interesting cheaper upgrades... I know that a difference of 100$ isn't a big deal when you're pro, but sounds really amazing when you're only "hobby home-studist" I may contact motu before purchasing, just to be sure, but this doesn't really astonish...

DP7 with Ableton Live for composition?
Hi, really new too this forums (only 2-3 posts some times ago about hardware questions), and I browsed a lot here since 2 weeks. I'm a happy owner of an ultralite (mk2), so do I own audiodesk 2. I can upgrade to DP7 for only 275 euros at DV247.com, so the price is really interesting for me, even mor...

Re: ULTRALITE : routing the master to 2nd output?
@ enigamtunes : yes, soundflower or jack OS X could do the job, but I was searching for a motu-native hardware solution... I managed to do this, without using any other audio physical outputs, with enabling the option "add computer's audio to output" in the cuemix console menus. (sorry, I'...

ULTRALITE : routing the master to 2nd output?
Hi, I tried hard yesterday night, with no success, and browsing the web didn't help me very much: I run traktor 3 with a dj controller and I'd like to record the output of traktor into a stereo audio channel in ableton Live. I thought I could route a 2nd master OUT to the analog outputs 1+2, so as t...

Re: 2 macbooks on 1 ultralite ???
it's possible but (...) Only one computer at a time can control the interface well thanks for your quick answer, but I don't get it ? do you mean that it is technically possible to plug 2 computers via 2 firewire cables, but that this won't be possible at the software/os level ? in fact, what I'd l...
