Hey Jeff, Welcome to the discussion! You've been using DP for pretty long...would you say, as Mr_Clifford did in earlier posts, that the DP and PT GUIs have similarities? off topic, but... I noticed "BLA" in your gear list. Are you happy with what they did for your MOTU 828mkii? Another pi...

Well, let's be frank. Pro Tools is EXCELLENT for recording, editing & mixing audio. BUT.... 1. You'd have to spend many thousand $$$ to get PT HD in order to really utilise its benefits. 2. PT LE will require you to buy more (inferior) hardware (as I mentioned before) and you will very quickly r...

re: SDII file format... I think that's cleared up. Thanks guys! So not a big deal. I've been in the graphic arts industry for a few decades and we had to deal with dueling proprietory formats from the git, some caused more headaches than others. The hardware, software and operators got smarter and n...

This is cool.. The more the merrier! Mr_Clifford : Sequence Editor...Got it! Thanks! So, you're saying DP's GUI approach is somewhat like PT? Is AudioDesk anything like DP? I've had a little taste of AD (when Rosetta isn't crashing it...) Also a good point that I was somewhat aware of...Logic is sup...

This is great! Keep it coming! Well, so far, DP is in the lead, but, then this is Unicornation. As Dwetmaster said, that would be somewhat expected. vier-personen: ...of course there are some things I don‘t like about DP, like it‘s use of sound designerII files Little or no exposure to DP here, so p...

Favorite/Best DAW software for Tracking Audio??

Hi, What DAW software do MOTU interface users like for tracking audio? Logic, DP, others...etc.?? I bought a MOTU 896HD primarily for recording audio. I will be miking acoustic and electric guitars(old amps), vocals, percussion, etc., the usual. Minimal MIDI usage. "Rootsy Americana/Folk/Rock&q...

Howdy kwonga & jrdmcdnld jrdmcdnld was absolutely correct in suspecting my headphones first. 'Like to give credit where credit is due. Thanks! I took a closer look at my "trusty old" AKG240 headphones and was instantly reminded, with one of those "duh..." moments, that these ...

896HD/CueMix?? Input level in Headphones too quiet...

AudioDesk-Garageband(until I choose other DAW)/896HD/Intel iMac OS10.4.9 Having trouble making the input signal loud enough in my headphones to work with. Using a fully functional Rode K2 mic through 896HD preamps to track acoustic guitar and vocals. Every meter(DAW, Cue Mix, 896HD) is showing a la...

Not sure of the protocol here, so I apologize if it seems I'm hijacking kwonga's thread. Not my intention at all.

It's just that our issues seem to be one and the same and both of us would likely benefit from the same solution.

Thanks,

What headphones are you using? Closed headphones that deaden the outside sound are probably best for tracking with. I love to use Sennheiser HD202s. They're tight on your head and reproduce low mids and bass very well. They make everything sound huge in a way. $25/pair. Here is how I recomend makin...

same problem here...

Hi Kwonga, You are not alone. I am having the same issue with my 896HD. Also new to MOTU gear. I've been using AudioDesk and Garageband to record acoustic guitar and vocal through a condenser mic into an Intel iMac, OS10.4.9. Even with everything turned up in both CueMix and on the interface I can b...
