Re: Ultrlite Mk3 was working now not detected

I have similar gear. I'd guess this is a driver installation issue not something like IRQ conflict. The drivers, especially MOTU, seem pretty sensitive to doing things precisely as they say in terms of when to plug/unplug cables and power on/off and such both when installing and uninstalling. May be...

Re: MIDI problems using MOTU Ultralite MK3

May be unrelated, maybe not. I posted a few weeks back regarding problems with MIDI, the original Ultralite, and Vista 64. All worked fine under XP 32, but got stuck notes after upgrading to Vista 64. After much careful elimination of possible sources (keyboards, other software, other MIDI issues), ...

Re: motu ultralite versions..?

The original Ultralite (which I have) was called just that, no MK-anything. The current version is mk3, which differs from the original by having on-board effects, such as reverb and EQ (maybe other differences as well?). I never knew there was a mk2 version, but may have been. Anyway, current is th...

Re: +4dbu devices into Ultralite line inputs

Hey Dave, I ran across this issue shortly after I got my Ultralite. MOTU tech support responded that the Ultralite does not have the feature to switch between +4 and -10, that it's an error in the documentation. You can apparently set the gain with front console knobs as well as with CueMix, though ...

Re: Stuck MIDI notes with Mk3 and Ultralite

FWIW, I have completely different configuration -- PC, VIsta 64 -- and got stuck notes when upgraded from XP32. After considerable trouble-shooting, eliminated all potential causes except the Ultralite and related hardware/drivers (MOTU, Vista 64, and whatever). I installed Edirol USB MIDI interface...

Re: Ultralite and wireless USB

Hi John, See signature below for my configuration. Let me know if you need more details. The wireless I use is the Realtek that comes on the motherboard. Note also that I cannot run the MIDI I/O of the Ultralite on this configuration without stuck notes problem, thus use the Edirol for that. Also no...

Re: Stuck Notes with Ultralite and Vista 64

I systematically eliminated my keyboards, cables, wireless network connection, and applications, leaving (at least in my abilities to trouble-shoot) the Ultralite, the MOTU Firewire driver (I did try the one posted earlier this week), and Vista 64 as possible problem sources. I installed an Edirol U...

Stuck Notes with Ultralite and Vista 64

Am upgrading from XP32 Home to Vista 64 Home Premium, and now getting "stuck" notes running MIDI through my Ultralite (original, not MKIII). All worked fine under XP32. Problem occurs while playing anywhere from 15 seconds to a minute, more quickly with faster playing, but also with just s...

Hi JE, You can use all ten outputs. However, I believe you can control the output signal levels from the front panel (or CueMix?) as the Main Outs only, or a group of 1-6 outs (for 5.1 surround?) or of 1-8 outs (for 7.1 surround). You apparently can't control the output levels channel-by-channel, no...

You can't switch +4/-10. "A typo in the tech notes" if I recall correctly from a MOTU tech support response to my question a few months ago. Gain control is through Cuemix or the controls on the front of the box, including the extra ones on the Mic 1/2 inputs.

Ultralite Volume Control for Main Outs AND Outs 1-8

I want to control the volume for my two active monitors from my Ultralite Main Outs, and also separately control the volume (signal strength?) going to a separate audio amplifier for the audio outs 1-8. Can this be done? Here's what I've tried without success: I've figured out how to do Main Volume ...

Here's the response I got for this same question to MOTU Tech Support last summer. "Hello, Thank you for your email. This is a typo on the tech note. The UltraLite does not have this capability. Thanks for writing, Nathan MOTU Tech" I've been able to get enough signal on my small setup so ...
