when i'm not recording or making music, i am generally running linux. i know there's no linux support for the 8pre, but can i just use it as a dumb mixer (analog-to-digital converter?) if it's not plugged into my computer? i'd like to be able to just plug in a bunch of instruments and jam without ha...

So I'm recording in Audition 2.0, just using my bass direct in. I laid down a few tracks and then my 8pre started clicking/popping and beeping (three times per occurrence).
