Coming to this a little late, but have you seen https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewto ... 14&t=68291 where someone with a Ryzen CPU seems to be experiencing a very similar problem?

Re: 8pre Firewire in Windows 10
Hi. Sorry for the late reply but I've only just seen your post. Yes, I have the 8Pre FW version running very successfully on my machine, Win 10 Pro, 1709, i7 6700K CPU, 32 GB RAM. I should add the 8 Pre functions as my only audio interface (I will not use the on-board Windows Audio) so am dependent ...

Re: Two 8PRE USB via ADAT, huge CueMix FX bug!
Assuming the USB version of the 8-Pre works in the same way as the FW version which I have... If you're running 96kHz as you say, that higher sampling rate needs to use 2 ADAT channels for each input. Hence your problem. The "solution" is to drop 96kHz to 48kHz, when all 8 ADAT channels wi...

Re: Track 16 no main out and noise from unit
Which version of the MOTU Universal Audio drivers is this? I have an 8-Pre, so an older unit, but using the latest version, 4.0.5.9644 of the drivers, connected by FW (there is no USB option), it was not "seen" by Win 7 (so no driver "install") and I eventually had to completely ...

Re: Motu 8Pre Sound drop outs. Advice please
A bit late in coming to this, but.. You say you've tried "adjusting the samples from 512 downwards...". I suspect you need to adjust upwards . On my PC with Intel Core 2 Quad @ 3GHz (with Win 7 32 bit) I have to run at 1024 samples to be pretty sure that drop-outs etc. are not going to occ...

Re: MOTU 8pre DOESN'T WORK on Windows 7 Professional 64 bits
Hi Kenneth. Sorry I misunderstood what you had already tried! On this forum http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-will-not-recognize-firewire-ilink-cable/2a4043ff-bb14-47ee-85af-ba6cafca1c6b?page=2 I found this information from someone else who has this exact ...

Re: MOTU 8pre DOESN'T WORK on Windows 7 Professional 64 bits
Hi Torrentg and emmrecs. Then I've found and downloaded Windows 7 IEEE 1394 Driver With Legacy Option Available.rar in this site: http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/4709-how-install-legacy-ieee-1394-firewire-driver-windows-8-x86-motu.html But I don't know how to install it. I cannot simply...

Re: MOTU 8pre DOESN'T WORK on Windows 7 Professional 64 bits
As someone who is having to seriously consider upgrading from Win 7 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit and I have an 8-Pre that functions perfectly under the 32 bit version, I'd be very interested to see if anyone can offer a reason why you are experiencing this problem. However, I do have one area for you to c...

Re: What is "motuDNSResponder.exe"?
Many thanks for that!
I did wonder whether it might be something to do with this new OSC (though for me it's "irrelevant" since it would appear that this does not work with the 8Pre - though it does with the 4Pre - and, anyway, I'm one of those dinosaurs who doesn't even own an IPad.)

What is "motuDNSResponder.exe"?
Since installing the latest driver version (55333) on my Win 7 machine (MOTU unit is 8Pre) I now have an entry in Task Manager showing a permanently-running process, "motuDNSResponder.exe". Anyone know what it does and why it's there/running, even when the 8Pre is not connected? TIA for an...

Coming to this a little late but... Based on what you're seeing from the Latency Checker, I wonder whether you're running Win 7? I have an 8-Pre, Win 7 32 bit and, although I haven't experienced anything like the level of problem you're seeing I have seen those latency spikes shown by Latency Checke...

Re: problem with 8pre
Just to add to the previous post: As I discovered when I first had the 8-Pre... If you (re-)connect the firewire cable with the 8-Pre already powered on there is every likelihood that you will fry the FW chip on the 8-Pre. I think it's supposed to be hot-pluggable but my experience suggests otherwis...

Re: Windows 7 32/64 drivers released! Post your experiences.
You have to change the firewire driver to "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)"! It works perfect after this. How do we do this? Well, courtesy of information from another forum I'll answer my own question: Right click on the firewire host controller in Device Manager and choose ...
