I have 8gb of RAM. I figure that is the problem. My HD 896HD works perfectly on my 32-bit system, same setup.

Are there any updates on this? I have exactly the same issue. Under XP 32 bits everything works fine, under X64 I get no, or very cracky sound. I did the setup twice following the instructions and doing the steps in the right order. No success though. Right now I also went back to 32 bits XP but it...

What do you have the output bus of Vegas set to? If your output source in your DAW isn't set to the Headphones .... you'll hear nothing. Likely your output source is set to the Mains.
