Re: Any Voxengo users out there?
I was a little put off by the GUIs at first, but they grow on you, and the info is presented in a very legible way.

Re: Any Voxengo users out there?
I was curious about the lack of Mac version but from you're saying he's working on it? I'd like to hear the tape saturation plugin. No, I just meant it's coming... eventually... :? From what I've read at KVR, Aleksey isn't saying "what's next", just that eventually they'll all be ported. ...

Re: Any Voxengo users out there?
I like the bass enhancer, LF Max Punch, which was also recently ported to the Mac. Aleksey really seems to be a good dev; knows his stuff. The Marquis compressor gets a lot of love on other forums, so I'm looking forward to that one coming our way...

Re: Pianoteq 3 is out, and free to existing users!
I didn't bother loading the previous versions of the Classic and Modern Grands (M1, and C1 and C2). I'm going to run through all of my projects this weekend, and reapply my tweaks to equivalent C3 and M3 patches instead. But in case you do want to load v2 versions, did you see the extra files for t...

Re: Pianoteq 3 is out, and free to existing users!
I'm no pianist, nor am I an expert on the workings of an acoustic piano... but I've been able to tweak Pianoteq presets, mostly thanks to the excellent help system. When you hover over a control, you get a useful explanation of how the control affects the sound and/or playing response, in layman's t...

Re: Pianoteq 3 is out, and free to existing users!
This is a fantastic upgrade -- I've been "playing" it (as well as a guitarist can...) for the past half hour. The sound is much warmer and rounder to my ears, and Modartt really listened to the user requests for more low end -- the bottom feels huge compared to v2. The "bad" thin...

Re: tape delay
I'll second, third, fourth, and fifth the UA tape echo. I'm a huge fan of the echoplex and the RE space echo is the only thing that got me out of unreliable hardware. UA has figured out how to digitize magic and they injected it into it. It's true. I've used all of the above-mentioned plugs except ...

I agree -- very versatile and smooth -- thanks for the tip; hadn't heard of Sindo before.James Steele wrote:Also... seriously... download and try the Sindo widener I mentioned. I have no connection with this company, but I found it to be one of the best of these type of plugs I've ever heard.

Re: 2 B3 or Not 2 B3? That is the Question.
There's another option, new to the Mac: VB3 Unfortunately, up to now, it won't work in DP. There's a story behind that, in this KVR thread: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=230225 There are links to the Mac beta in the thread -- I've been running build 4 in Logic for the past few days, ...

Re: Pro Tools 8 announced...oh dear
Does PT LE v8 at least finally offer unlimited track count? You pay per track now  "Pro Tools 8 expands the power of your current hardware interface, allowing you to work with up to 48 mono or stereo audio tracks. Add Music Production Toolkit 2 (for serious musicians and music producers) ...

Well I am a coder, so right now I am looking at the files and seeing if I can built a translator from the XML to something the environment can use. I shouldn't have to do this. It's been a while since I set up my hw synths in Logic's Environment, so I'm a little rusty, but... if you just get the pa...

would you be able to put all the VI's .. etc... be put on a separate HD? Yes, you can move any of the content -- EXS samples, impulse responses, Apple Loops, etc., to a separate drive; in fact that's what many Logic users have done. [edit] Although, you can't move the built-in VIs (like Ultrabeat, ...

Not free (but worth every penny of the $20 price), Augustus Loop is a great tape delay plug:
