Re: Traveler v1 works fine unless I daisy chain firewire
Yes, it works from either port used singularly.

Traveler v1 works fine unless I daisy chain firewire
No problems unless I use the available second fire wire output to place a drive or Liquid Mix or second Interface. Then either nothing registers (computer stops seeing the Traveler) or the product after the Traveler does not show up. System: MAC OSX Leopard with up to date drivers on the mac and cur...

looks like a goof with the compresor settings
follow-up test recordings tonight came out ok (with normal bilateral waveforms) so it must have been severe settings on the tube compressor. I thought I had seen everything.

no extreme distortion on the squashed track
I didn't notice anything wrong with the sound, noticed the waveform later and freaked out. There does seem to be Low End missing that I was able to EQ in, that might just be that bass though. Clicks, pops? A few - It's a direct bass so the clicks seem to be where they should be. i.e. produced by the...

Squashed waveform - worse than simple DC Offset - What the heck?
http://homepage.mac.com/daviswhite/.Pictures/dcoffset.jpg The top waveforms are my stereo drum track, microphones into MOTU TRAVELER 24/96> DP5. Looking good! The bottom messed up and squashed waveform is a mono track of direct bass >EH tube compressor pedal> unbalanced Audio-in #8 MOTU Traveler 24/...

Digital Performer 5 "Extras Disc" what is on it?
I have discovered that I have broken my "Extras Disk" (moving DP to a better computer today) what generally is on this disk? It might not be stuff I need/use. Otherwise I have written MOTU about the cost of a replacement.
thanks,
Davis

Traveller MIDI Port
The rack rails allow a few inches of air on the sides of the Traveller. A "right angle" MIDI plug would probably fit - although most of those cables are poor quality. Mine is in an "open" rack. I'll look tonight and see if a "straight" MIDI cable would fit in a closed r...

Traveller Main Outs
I have had this problem (Sound comes out of the "phones" but NOT the main outs) - but it has been so infrequent as to just be a minor nuisance. A restart of the Traveller and the computer fixes it every time. It happened more the first month I had the Traveller, but it hasn't happened agai...

AudioDesk Install Disc
Yes, I didn't get a separate disk either, although I still registered from the serial # on the AudioDesk manual. The CD seemed useless to me as it contained no Universal Binary programs. I downloaded the Intel drivers and Traveller software direct from ther MOTU site. These all work great with the T...
