Hi - you can use "Spectral Effects" in the Audio menu, or go to the sequence editor, move to the beginning of the soundbite you wish to stretch (if you want to anchor the end), or the end (if you want to anchor the beginning), mouse over the bar at the top of the waveform until the cursor ...

Sounds from your post like you probably already checked this, but "Audio Patch-Through" enabled? Or if going the zero-latency route, CueMix channel unmuted?

All the best!

Hear, hear...you're hired. Making those crossfades happen right, would definitely (says the idiot who knows nothing about programming) be the tricky part...our ears are so sensitive to the crazy complexity and randomness of a real instrument, and to what sounds natural and unnatural.

The frustrating thing certainly is the unpredictability - it's hard to reproduce the same problem in the same part of the same project after rebooting - and the sudden onset, when everything's been fine for hours (or last night, for me, minutes). It definitely may have had something to do with autom...

Providing a bump to a second-page thread here because I was struggling with this all night. I've definitely had this experience quite a bit, and although I can't relate it to specific DP projects, it wierdly seems to get worse when DP is performing LOW DEMAND tasks. For instance, tonight I was doing...

Well-said, Frodo, as always. I would agree that the current concerns about 5 shouldn't sour you too much on the idea of DP; most people here are still pretty loyal when it comes down to it, and are pretty optomistic that it'll all be addressed. Shufflegroove, I'm presuming from what you said that yo...

Wow - that really suprises me that Logic would force you to edit on the grid; it's been a lot of years since I used Logic, and I don't remember that issue - any one more expert than I have a solution for Shufflegroove on that? DP is pretty good for sample-accurate nondestructive editing - with a few...

Thanks for the advice; the use of markers is a really smart way to approach the task of auditioning, and one I had not thought of. My situation, though, was one where the singer and I had already made all the selections using a technique similar to what you describe (on a phrase-by-phrase level, so ...

I'd like to keep the individual soundbites, though, so I can finesse the edits once they're in one track.

Thanks,

Paste to one track

Does anybody know of a way to perform a "paste to a single track?" In other words, select multiple soundbites from several tracks, change the selection to an empty track, and paste all soundbites, with their relative positions, to that one track. No biggie, but it would speed along composi...

I agree - very interesting, although I'd want to let it go around the block once and see what people think. Thus far, a lot of "emulation" plug-ins have seemed to fall a little short, but I wonder if that's partially because of the compromises necessary to allow them to be hosted on the co...

I know this is an old thread, but I have to give a shout out to my friends at Boom Design Group (www.boomdesigngroup.com). Full disclosure - these are good friends of mine - but the partners are musicians and artists focused on doing great design FOR musicians and artists. It's really beautiful mate...

Good info - when I hear the term "gospel" I definitely think of "black gospel" as the center of that style, though I'm aware others use it to describe a wider set of genres. It's been a long-time goal of mine to really learn that style from the inside out. As a pianist, I can fak...

During mixing, I usually end up assigning a lot of track outputs to aux tracks (say, all male background vocals through bus 1-2 to an Aux track, which is in turn assigned to the Master). In addition to organization, it allows you to more easily, and with less CPU impact, apply any insert processing ...

Yeah, actually you're right about that...not a style I work in a lot, so I'm a little fuzzy on good examples of the sounds I'm thinking of. I'm just aware that sometimes the word "gospel" is used pretty broadly.
