I had a similar problem and read somewhere on this forum that you should use the PCI slot furthest away from your video card, so I moved my PCI 424 card from slot 2 to slot 5 and it worked!

Since moving my card to slot 5 and re-installing the drivers, it seems to be working fine now!! :D Whew. Nothing worst than having your whole system down. Made me realize how much I depend on that sound card. I think it was the Native Instruments Kontakt 2.1 update that caused the problem in the fir...

Okay. I tried swapping the PCI 424 with my Network card, in slot 5, the furthest from my video card in slot 1. Now it recognizes the PCI 424. Weird and annoying, but at least it is working.

I just posted a similar topic. I had exactly the same experience with my 2408mk3 and PCI 424 card.

PCI 424 died?

I have a PCI 424 card which came with my 2408mk3. It has worked flawlessly for the past year and a half. Yesterday when I turned on my computer it no longer recognized the PCI 424 card. I tried downloading the latest drivers and re-installing the drivers. I re-booted the sytem several times. Nothing...
