New Transpose Bug
This is one that just cropped up since OS10.3.6 and I didn't see any old threads dealing with it. I was transposing a vocal track and out of the blue DP started cutting off the last minute of the track. The audio is still in the new soundbite when you check on the soundbites window but it won't show...

Re: Marshall Hiss
I saw roll out of that guitar, I think it was Gibson. The things completely digital so it can go straight into a DAW, play MIDI, all kinds of weird stuff. I have no idea how it sounds. - BEN

Re: Marshall Hiss
Hey Wylie here's the URL Amp Page Thats's probably the best starting point on the web and my buddy Ace has got stuff there also. Go to his site if you have questions and mention me in the e-mail. He is a serious vintage Marshal guru. He does his own redesigns including a fifteen watt head that sound...

Re: G5 or Dual G4 opinions
Gary, liked your ideas about future interface development but I seriously doubt MOTU will develop another card compatiple with the old PCI buss. There's just too much pontential with the newer higher buss speed and judging by how they underestimated the demand for 424 cards when we all upgraded, I s...

Re: Marshall Hiss
I record with a custom a bud built(Thunder Tweak Amps) Its based on a Vox AC30 amp with a Vox top boost and JCM800 preamps, switchable, and a 2X12 cab. Some of the older Marshals had poor quality caps and transformers but pretty much everything since the plexi has been quiet including the JCM800 reiss...

Re: MIDI Notes Sticking with 4.5
Shooshie other than being on a G5 my setups similar just smaller. I have tried other clocking scenarios out of the MTP-AV(USB), no virtuals, restart hygene(hell I repair permissions twice a month),everythings powered out of a Furman PLUSDM, the older synths are flaky anyway and the drivers probabaly ...

Re: Marshall Hiss
Sorry...James I'd also mention it's a good idea to edge edit all of your discontinous tracks (vocals, etc) It makes for an overall cleaner mix and reduces your CPU drain.

Re: Marshall Hiss
Speaking of the POD, you'll get that classic Marshall hiss if your runing high gain settings on a pod or V-amp running a Marshal patch, it's just the nature of the beast. John already mentioned edge editing, my favorite, or you can use the noise gate plugin or an automated mute if your lazy and can ...

Re: Help with guitars on a project
I agree with side chaining and I'd add trying MW multi band compressor so you be more precise about your boost. Also on my subwoofer the low end sounds a bit heavy, make sure your not over boosting the subsonic end of the bass track, it might be eating up some of your dynamic range in the mix.

Re: PCI-324 and OS X
Welcome to upgrade hell. As the software gets more powerful your platforms going to get slower and you'll have to get a 424 for the new G5's PCI buss. Not to mention OS 9 support is fading by the hour. So sooner or later you just gotta bite the bullet.

Re: MIDI Notes Sticking with 4.5
I've had this problem for years even going back to performer 2.0(the original sequencer). It doesn't take much, an OS hickup, power spike, etc to futzz a synths brain. My own hunch is its probably an OS 10 issue and the way it handles MIDI since it never happened under OS 9 on my Fantom but its prett...
