Hello All,
I'm unable to change the host buffer size in the web UI for the Ultralite AVB that's attached to a Win 10 machine via USB. Anyone have any insight?
Thanks,
- Jason

Re: Tremolo marking on stems in Quickscribe?
Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. I use Sibelius for proper music prep, but was using Quickscribe to knock out something fast from a sequence. I'd let MOTU know, but my suggestions over the years have gone into a black hole...

Tremolo marking on stems in Quickscribe?
Hello All,
Been through the manual and can't figure out whether it's possible to put tremolo slashes on stems in Quickscribe. In fact, I can't find any references to stems at all. Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Jason

Listen to MIDI channel other than 1?
Hi,
I'm trying to use multiple instances of MX4 in Vienna Ensemble Pro. In VE Pro, each instance listens on a different MIDI channel. So far, it seems like MX4 will only pay attention if MIDI is coming in on channel 1. Any way to tell MX4 to listen to another channel or omni?
Thanks,
Jason

Depends on the VI, but almost every VI I've seen allows you to map params to any continuous controller. In most cases, polyphonic aftertouch is too difficult to control anyway, so you only care about monophonic a/t. I've found that plugging in an expression pedal is a much more intuitive way to cont...

Re: help me persuade someone that DP is better than ProTools
What can DP do that ProTools can't? Biggest differences for me: - DP can edit multiple MIDI tracks in the Graphic Editor. PT edits one track of MIDI at a time. Non-starter for complex sequencing. - DP has a notation editor. PT doesn't. Again, non-starter for complex sequencing. Why is your choice o...

... and speaking of getting fixed.... Apple really needs to do something about its MIDI Network feature-- to either update it for humans or remove it altogether. I couldn't agree more! I try it with each and every dot release of OS X and is unusable every time. In fact, Audio/MIDI Setup is pretty m...

I do have some firsthand experience with DP 5.13 and VE3 to report. I'm running DP on a dual 2.5 G5 w/6.5G RAM and the slave machine is exactly the same. The two machines are connected via a gigabit ethernet switch. Unfortunately, no amount of futzing could get VE3 working correctly in DP. At every ...

Ditto on the problems with Mac Network MIDI. It's unusable. However, this is excellent:

Using it with VSL very successfully. Not a single hiccup.

If I understand your workflow right, I accomplish the same thing with Device Groups. I'll make a new Device Group that goes to all destinations for Strings, for example. Then I make a new MIDI track (String Dynamics), assign its output to the Strings Device Group and automate away. If I don't unders...
