Mr_Clifford, Thanks. I just read about stripping. That's good to know. So, what you are saying is that if the video imported into DP5 is digitized, (not external VCR or mini 8) then by using the DP Quicktime format, the SMPTE is already embedded in the video? That's great! If, in the case of people ...

DP5 using SMPTE

Hi Everyone, I am new to this type of digital recording/composing. I have a two part question and would appreciate any thoughts on any part of them. First is: I use a Big Ben Master clock to slave my MOTU 2408 (which has attached to it, 2 PC's running Gigastudio) The Big Ben makes the 2408 a flawles...

external clock

Hi, I have not had any similar results as yours, however, I have never experienced any noise, loops or jitters since acquiring the Apogee Big Ben. The clock is perfect. It's a chunk of change, but will take the extra burden off your 2408 having to be a clock source as well. I had found it hard to re...

Hi,
THe noise stays the same, around 60 Hertz. I believe it to be AC powerline noise. I just bought a monster unit with basic filtering, not as high end as the 3500. I will try it today and return here with the results. I hope it works.
Thanks for your input
Best,
Stefan

Voltage regulation and clean power

Hi Guys. i realize that this thread is old, but I am in the same spot. One monitor I have hums at 60 Hertz. I want to clean it up. I looked into Furman and Monster and wanted to ask what you all thought about the APC products that are being released in Q2 of 2007. They are comparably priced and desi...

new and want to buy DP5 -have some questions

Does DP 5 work well with Roland SOund Moudules? Does it handle MIDI messages and program changes better than say, Sibelius? Currently I operate Roland xp-88, xp-30 and jv2080. I own multiple expansion cards for these modules. I am hoping to get a program that will better manage sound banks and progr...
