Re: Help - corrupted file? Horrible white noise/static

I managed to get rid of this problem by kindly asking MOTU to ship me a "vintage" 5.11 :) I track with it, then use 6.01 to mix, even though that very version is still prone to get stuck: gets the computer to bet "existential in deep thoughts" while you suggest your client to get...

Re: DP6 bug of death

Well, talked to Mike @ tech support, and he really tried to help, and was thinking outside the box with approaches on how to get things done...no solutions alas to the issue. However, did get customer support to send me a 5.13... At least they're doing what they can, which is definitely a step in th...

Re: DP6 bug of death

Good news : don't use DP6.01 :)

re-installed 5.11, and guess what: it works !

I was getting the problem with only 4 audio tracks, and no plug-in inserted, even after minimizing the bundles....go figure....

Still pissed-off ? You bet !

Re: DP6 bug of death

The symptoms appear regardless of file type (SDII or WAV), nor of frequency... I always use 24 bit. I doubt it's a drive issue, since the waveform is not displayed after an overview is generated, for new files. Did run tests with Techtools Pro, and all is jolly in my hardware dept... Dug up a versio...

DP6 bug of death

Hello all, I'm beyond pissed off... So DP brings "improvements" like spinning beach ball of death, random crashes, the works... But this one beats them all : You record, everything looks fine: playback : a horrid static/wordclock type of sound comes out of the soundbites...They look ok...t...

Re: Help - corrupted file? Horrible white noise/static

I'm trying to get help from Motu: Added by xxxx on 2008/10/28 11:41:06 GMT-5 State change from 'Unread' to 'In progress' Does this happen at other sample rates? Do you have this issue if you create a new project not from a template? Do you have this issue if you open Digital Performer while logged i...

Re: Help - corrupted file? Horrible white noise/static

There's only 40GB left :) not a space issue....And the CPU is stable around 20 %. I never had issues with previous versions, since the 90's !!!

Re: Help - corrupted file? Horrible white noise/static

Yup, I experienced the same thing. The waveform is looks fine, but you get to see the noise tacking full amplitude after a few seconds when zooming in very narrowly ???? So wierd, it displays fine only when not in full zoom...I take it the waveform overview is done pre-HD writing....but the ear scor...

Stereo Bounce

That seems the way to go, or into my MX-2424, then varispeed the bastard.... Hoewver, it still does not explain why files get 'corrupted' by the timestrecth, they all ought to share common endpoints after the action, if they shared it before the operation.... ...Thanks for taking the time to reply, ...

basics

Caps are for yelling, young pedawan..... Import your fav tracks in DP, or create a project just for that, line them up, and analyse them in your sequence window.....How hard is the snare against the 'body' of the song ? Can you spot the kick ? Is bass taking too much energy out of the mix's DNA ? co...

Low Levels

It seems Itunes always lowers the volumes of imported mixes...you can always bring it back up using the Itunes 'option' tab, once you get into the INFO on a given track....but you might want to improve levels at the source.... Do you premaster ? What does your 2 track waveform say compared to your f...

B) method : Merged all the bites (new clean files), changed the BPM in conductor track, select all, Hit the 'adjust all soundbites to sequence' C) results : some files yield bezerk renditi...
