Re: MachFive + 10.5.7 = temporary visual gibberish
Thanks, Eric.
So it seems that an Intel Mac, PT8, M5v2 and 10.5.7 combo is working now?! Can anyone else report about this [relatively obscure?] combination?
Just to repeat - MachFive 2.02 works well standalone and in Logic 7 and 8 on my OS X 10.5.4 Intel iMac, but it fails totally in PTLE 7.4.2.

Re: MachFive + 10.5.7 = temporary visual gibberish
M5v2 works well in standalone mode, very well in Logic 8 and 7 (slight issue with some key commands being eaten though) and absolutely disastrously in PTLE 7.4.2. No complaints on processor hit (I've not tested fully, but it's never complained). Wonder if ewillhelm can add any more about PT performa...

Re: Key Commands in Logic
Fair point James - it's surely Logic's problem (not passing through the keyboard events correctly) after all. I was just wondering if it's ever bothered anyone else and if there's a way round it. My favourite stupid thing so far is that when I type a number, Logic changes screenset - closing the M5 ...

Key Commands in Logic
I'm having trouble with Logic 8.02's key commands overriding any input I'm attempting to type in to M5v2 (for example, I can't save a file with a capital L in its name as Logic tries to lock/unlock its screensets when I try). Anyone else in the same boat? Are there any workarounds for this? Thanks i...

Re: MachFive + 10.5.7 = temporary visual gibberish
Hello - I can't get M5v2 working in PTLE 7.4.2 at all - I'm researching whether going up to 10.5.7 will be a disaster or not at the moment. What setup is working for you? Which versions of PT, M5, etc? All help gratefully received! (I'm on a 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo iMac with 2Gb RAM, PTLE 7.4.2 -> 8.0, ...

Re: MachFive v2, Leopard and Pro Tools 8?
MOTU's tech notes system can seem quite disengaged from their customers. I can understand a "never explain, never apologise" mentality, it's just not very friendly, although when they do do something (and it's good), we're all happy. Our lot is that as uninvited outsiders in their developm...

Re: MachFive v2, Leopard and Pro Tools 8?
In the meantime, the told me to lower the number of CPU cores in the Playback Engine, to reduce the occurences of these CPU spikes. And does that work? (By the way, I love the "use fewer cores" fix - it's also seen elsewhere for various PT and Logic issues. Either you support multiple cor...

Re: MachFive v2, Leopard and Pro Tools 8?
Thanks for the responses. Is it me or is MOTU's attitude just weird? They haven't fixed it for 7.4. It doesn't work with 8.0. There's no mention in the technotes of this, as far as I can see (though I'd love to be proved wrong). So it's no longer RTAS compatible, is it? When does "the universal...

MachFive v2, Leopard and Pro Tools 8?
... has anyone any reports of M5v2 working with Pro Tools 8?
I'm using an Intel iMac and M5v2 doesn't play with 7.4.2 at all, so before I upgrade, any reports would be sorely appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Re: MachFive 2 and Pro Tools 7.4 Doesn't work?
I'm running it with 7.4.2 on Leopard 10.5.4. It doesn't work, basically. Tech support are aware of the issue but don't admit to it on their site (or they didn't before my technote, at least). Although I'm told the issue will be addressed in a future upgrade, they don't seem overly bothered, as far a...

Your system should easily be able to cope with PT and Mach5v2. I'm using an Athlon 1.6GHz processor with 1.25Gb RAM, XPSP2 and PT7.1. RTAS M5v2 is unusable, but the wrapped VST is solid. Plenty of polyphony and processing available. Well, maybe not as much as an 8-core... :( I'm not sure whether thi...
