I've tried every guitar amp modeler there is - Digitech, SansAmp, Pods (old and new), Marshall JMP-1, Korg, Vox, I can't remember all of them now... For my ears, the Vox Tonelab is the clear winner. It's the only one with an actual tube in it, for one thing. 90 percent of the time I'd rather use th...

This today from MOTU tech support.... At least it's definitive. Hello, Thank you for writing. In order to daisy chain multiple Firewire interfaces, you need to be running Windows XP SP1, using a TI chip set card and driver version 3.5.3.2. Regards, Garrick Sanderson MOTU Tech Support Well, Garrick ...

Side about Brad and his company: If I was rich I'd only buy from Sweetwater, that's for sure, they're great. So far I've only bought various cable from them, iirc, but next month I'm going to buy one of those Onyx 24.4 mixers from them when they come out (assuming they can match a lower price I've ...

they should just leave thingsas they are. i dont think its that complicated, as of now you cant get the beatles on itunes. it does look that if they agreed to stay out of the music buis. they might have a small problem. but in any lawsuit you have to prove damages. no one can get anything from the a...

i dont think itunes is actually the spirt of what is intended by the music buisness. is music retail in anyway competing with the marketing or publishing of the apple record label. if anything the fact that we are even talking about it only advertizes the mere existence of apple records. i am sure i...

Thanks for trying lane :-) It theoretically should work without any outside WC source or any WC/BNC cable.... the driver (Windows, btw, not that it matters I think) lets you set the clock source to internal for either MOTU unit, and the clock is carried to the other 828mkii via firewire and the A/D...

I have then connected (daisy-chained) via 3' firewire cable (this is supposed to work in and of itself according to the manual, and they would automatically sync. No joy. Tried #2 first in the chain, no joy. Added word clock cable (out on #1 to in on #2), no joy. I see no way to set one to master a...

Re: Cannot sync 2x 828 mkiis
Both both used, but was able to register them. Have emailed tech support (like, thursday or friday) and have yet to hear back. one has firmware 1.0, the other 1.01. (don't see a way to upgrade firmware anywhere on MOTU site) Have tried every set of drivers I can download. Have switched out firewire...

I have a POD 2.0 and a Roland GP100 (the first modeling guitar preamp ever made). I bought Roland back in '96 when it first came out, and it still blows the POD away. Roland doesn't badge the GP100 anymore - they sell it as a BOSS GX700 or something like that, but it is awesome. You can pick up a u...
