DualDisc IMHO is not a format, it's a package, sandwiching together a DVD and a non-Red Book compliant, not necessarily a CD ;) Other than releases on the Sony-related labels, all DualDiscs I've seen have DVD-A content on the DVD side. Some unbelievable DVD-A/DualDiscs released in the past year or s...

Y'all gonna laugh...but I'm still using DP 4.12 and OS 10.3.2. I have a Mackie Universal and believe it or not I'm running DP audio thru a legacy 2408 (PCI-324). No kernal crashes as long as I use the audio interface only for DP. I'm planning to upgrade to 10.3.9 to install Final Cut Pro 5 (only wor...

Re: Firewire Drives and MOTU Hardware
Hi Resonant -
I'm using a G4 1ghz dual processor. And yes, absolutely keep the Firewire drive on a separate PCI bus. I have Medea's FW 800 card, and the G-RAID 500gb is connected to that. No probs so far.

Re: Firewire Drives and MOTU Hardware
I'm using the G-RAID 500gb FW800 with great results - even with numerous 5.1 surround tracks @ 24/48.

Re: PCI-324 and OS X
PCI 324 is legacy that should be banished in the OS X world. It is old stuff...get a 424 or Firewire Interface instead if you can afford it..else stay in OS9. Secretly MOTU agrees with this position.... In the meantime... ;) ...it seems that as long as you use the 324 exclusively for DP audio (whil...

Re: Unisyn: a Great MIDI Librarian for OS X
Thanks Shooshie, yeah, my Galaxy (and the venerable) Studio Vision Pro still work under OS 9, although it's been quite a while since I've used 'em. I have a Quicksilver DP G4, so I can still boot in 9 and do what you're suggesting without too much trouble.
Thanks,
F

Re: Unisyn: a Great MIDI Librarian for OS X
Great comments folks. I'm one of those that has a bunch of Galaxy files and I'd love to port them over to Unisyn. Is this possible? If not, any ideas for a workaround (and this may be a nice feature for a future release).
Cheers,
Felix
