Re: Getting static when recording from ADAT 2408 with PCI card
Make sure the 2408 is set to internal clock and that you have both ADAT in and out cables connected to the ADAT. Set the ADAT clock to "digital" and whatever resolution you are using. You will notice the "dig" in the clock window stops flashing when it recieves the clock signal f...

It sounds like you need a manual for the unit. When you turn on your PC with the 2408 connected, the computer controls the routing of the 2408. You should have installed the control panel that allows you to change input and output settings and clock and resolution settings. When using the unit with ...

It sounds to me like there is too much confusion going on. To simply transfer ADAT tracks to your computer, you only need a TOSLINK cable from the ADAT out of the ADAT to the ADAT In of the computer interface. You need to set the ADAT to external clock and the MOTU unit to internal clock. Make sure ...

I think if you are going to be recording a band, drums, etc. You will find that four microphone preamps is not adequate. If you buy a decent mixer, like a Yamaha, Mackie, Soundcraft and even Behringer, you can use the channel inserts to connect to your 2408 which gives you eight channels of input. Y...

I don't remember where I found this, but it answers your question: The analog inputs on the 2408mkII ship at a default of +4db. You can easily switch the inputs on the 2408mkII to -10db, if desired. Disconnect the power cable from the 2408 mkII and remove it••™s cover. Be sure to get all of the scre...

The 2408 actually has 24 outputs. One set of eight analogue and two sets of ADAT. To use 16 outputs you need to use one of the ADAT outputs to an ADAT to Analogue converter, which can be had from Behringer for very little money. It will also give you eight additional analogue inputs using the ADAT i...

2408 MK II level way down any fix?
When I run from my eight bus mixer to the 2408 and into the computer, the levels are way down even though the output of my eight bus board is cranked. When I record directly to one of my ADAT's, the level is fine, when I record to DAT, the level is fine, when I use the DAT converters and record to t...
