This happens with new files created on my Mac. I open DP, create a new file, try to save it to any drive other than the system drive and I get the error,
Currently my work around is simply save the file to the hard drive which DP is installed on.

Get info on the drive shows permissions set to read and write. I can copy things, including dp folders to the drive, but cant work and save DP files on the drive.
Do I need to set permissions in DP

thanks for your input, Repaired permissions a few times, did not help. I manually checked permissions and I wonder, should owner be "System" or "username"? Currently set to user name.

I have DP 5.13 running tiger 10.4.1 When I try to save a new project I get an error that says "Can't save you don't have sufficient permission..." My work around is to select the drive I am saving to, check the. "Ignore ownership on this volume" then I save just fine. Anyone know...

I am currently a happy dp5.13, os10.4.11 user. For non DP reasons I need to upgrade to leopard.
So, does dp 5.13 play well with leopard?

I have tried many brands, blown out the drive with comp air, it won't even recognize a blank disk or dvd. Maybe the drive is dead. But what is weird is that an external firewire disk drive doesn't work either.
