Confirmed. DP 4.52 does not install on a UNIX formatted OS X installation. You'd think that would be a basic help document on MOTU's website, but I was unable to locate it.

Checking their tech database revealed nothing for Unix other than a mention of MachFive. Its a possibility, though, so if I can't get it to work I'll reformat with HFS Journaled and see if that does the trick or not.
The only thing I can think of is that the AIF which was saved is somehow slightly corrupted. DP itself would be the source for this corruption.
