Source for flim/soundtrack-style "ambient-industrial&qu
Hi there- Does anyone know a good source of drum loops or samples that have a modern ambient/industrial sound to them? I'm looking for the style you might hear in a film soundtrack during a tense scene in something like the Bourne Identity, the TV show "24", or a modern military video game...

Better arpeggiator plug-ins? Reason's RPG-8 looks amazing
Hi all- The new Reason 4.0 that is currently in Beta has an awesome new arpeggiator device, the RPG-8. You can read about some of it's features at http://www.propellerheads.se/ It looks to be pretty awesome, and it seems to leave DP's arpeggiator in the dust. Does anyone know of any DP-compatible ar...

Advice for delivering tiny audio files with decent quality
Hi all- I've been doing some music for video games, and some of them are games that are downloadable from the web. So, the music tracks need to be very small files. So far, I've seen games use OGG Vorbis files, or WAV files at low bit rates. Does anyone have any advice about the best settings to use...

Composing music for Nintendo DS...MIDI to MOD converters?
Hi all- Does anyone have any experience creating music for the Nintendo DS device? Because of memory and performance constraints, the music needs to be delivered in the MOD (FM) format (tiny sample library, driven by sequenced midi-like notes). This MOD stuff was pretty popular in the 90's before co...

Thanks guys - this is a great simple routing idea. I routed all outputs to a Mix bus, and monitored through an Aux track with the Mix bus input, then recorded on a stereo track with the Mix bus as input. I also tried the even simpler setup where you don't use the Aux track, and just use input monito...

DP 5.11 not remembering mixing board strips?
Hey all- I'm either not doing something right, or this is a bug: I hand-select all the tracks that I want to see a strip for in the mixing board, but then often when I go back to view the mixing board, all the strips are turned off except one, and I have to manually re-enable all the tracks that I w...

Basic routing question for mixdown/bouncing
Hey all- I know there are a couple of ways to do this, but here's how create a mixdown: 1. Create a new track with a bus input like Bus 1-2, record-enable it 2. Change the output of every single audio track to Bus 1-2 3. Press record 4. Change the output of every single audio track back to what it w...

Pitch automation curve not showing
I see the pitch segments, and all the pitch automation stuff seems to work, but there is no pitch curve. I don't see any option to turn the curve on and off...what am I missing? Also...i'm trying to do some "pitch stepping" effects via some sort of pitch quantization. However, the pitch qu...
