Why does the 2408 have 3 eight-channel digital inputs if one can only use two of them at a time? Frodo We use three at once for twenty four at once into DP4.6. Each group comes from a DA-88. start by configuring the PCI-424 for all three banks to be TDIF. (This defaults the outputs to be TDIF 1-2.)...

Vertical zoom in the track window
Do you know you can grab the bottom of the name section of a track ( you get a little hand) and close it by clicking and dragging vertically zooming the entire track?

Wishes for horses us beggers could ride.

(1) I want to be able to lock all the takes of a given track together so they could be moved before being comped or discarded, or even just saved. I'll be mixing and trim the excess off the front of a tune, do a select all and slide the pieces back. Later we may decide to see what a given solo take ...

Getting ready for DP5, intel macs and MOTU Ultralite!

We are ready for a new setup for remote and have ordered a new Macbook pro. I want to load DP on it and use it with the new Ultralite. Is this going to work? Should I also plan for an external drive for the data storage? Is there a DP5 coming? When? Will it do something the one I have will not? Wil...

Re: 4.7 Wishlist

And how about allowing the user to increase the height of each track like I can do in Cuase SX3. Also when I double click an audio track I just want to see that enlarged track not that track plus all the other tracks. Perhaps that could be done by hold down shift key and double click that audio tra...

hiding tracks

in reply to Jaysplace 101
Simply go to the expand button just to the right of the little camera in the menu bar, and click any tracks off or on. Still in there and still working.

How about a MOTU mixing tour like the one PRO TOOLS is doing

Sweetwater has posted a calender of Pro-Tools seminars being held all over the midwest. I've asked if they could do something like this at MOTU. I would be willing to host a session at our studio, and would pay to get to any show around here. I think MOTU programs are as good as anyone's, and can be...

getting better at tuning

Jeff Isaacs again! 1. Option drag a marquee to zoom in on section needing work. 2. go to pitch 3. use the slider on the left to center the pitch graph (up & down-see it!) 4. use the zoom triangle at the top of the track (by the name- there it is!) to make the curve the size you like 5. highlight...

creating a stereo aux track

Waves IR1 full sounds awesome on a stereo aux track, even when you don't use surround. But it requires a stereo aux so I use a low cpu plug-in such as auto-pan in a disabled mode (option click till it appears in italics to disable). Creat an aux track, insert auto-pan, disable- the aux track will no...

AUG 31. WE HAD SOME TROUBLE FROM THE SESSION OF THE 26TH. TURNS OUT THAT THE TUNES WE DID PITCH CORRECTION ON, WHEN BOUNCED TO DISC (FOR EXPORT TO BURN TO DISC), EVEN THE 'REPAIRED' DUPLICATE TRACKS DID NOT PITCH CORRECT. AGAIN THERE WAS NO EFFECT TO THE FINISHED TUNES. I REMEMBERED ONE RATHER OBSCU...

We had a rough session this evening. This is the second time I've had a problem with the new pitch correction. When we went to a vocal track to make some adjustments, the pitch correction would not work. The transpose function was gone as well. The track looked right, and the changes could be made, ...
