Inserting compressor on 896 non HD ???

Hi all, Is there a way to insert a compressor btw the mic pre's and the rest of the signal path on an 896 non HD? I want to insert a compressor and can't seem to see how to do it other than to use it in my audio app (Sonar5).

Other interfaces I've had let you use a TRS to route to an output. I don't see how to do that with the 896.
