Just looking for any wisdom on this if there is any to be had...
I need to do some exports to mp3 and I have no experience of doing it, other than really casual stuff.
Are there things you can do to 'prepare' the audio this kind of compression?
Additional Mastering for MP3 - is there such a thing?

Here's where to talk about preamps, cables, microphones, monitors, etc.

i've taken a couple tunes and burned them to cd...ripped them to mp3, and tried to figure out what could make them sound better.
i'd go back to the original project, resave it as xxx-mp3mix, and tweak it a little bit, then export the mix directly to mp3.
generally speaking, i won't bother unless i have to encode at bitrates less than 192k.
