828 es noisy front preamps

hello folks

Got my 828es a few weeks ago and im just starting to try it out and Ive noticed my front preamps are very noisy. ive tried various things mix dis instruments theres this low level distortion at almost any level even with he pad on. i tried to update the firmware. on motus website theres only 1.3.5+ 181. this device came with1.3.5+184 i just rolled it back to no availe not sure whats going on. might have to send this thing back to motu which i dont really want to do i need to make some music

any advice?. yes i have tried different cables i restarted and as mentioned reflashed the firmware
its not my headphones i tested comp audio no distortion and tested everything on my monitors. i tried a different pre with same sources and cables into the line inputs totally clear audio.

update just realized its only doing it when I have the mics panned hard
this is very strange behavior gunna have to call motu up

You don’t say your OS. If Mac, have you installed the new audio drivers released Feb. 16?

There’s an unreleased firmware update mentioned in a recent thread that’s helped others. Because of the holiday, it’s unlikely that anyone will answer the phone. Submitting a Tech Link is a good idea.
