DP11 Crossgrade is $195 through 11/30

Post by James Steele »

MOTU has a (roughly) 1/2 price deal on competitive crossgrade running through 11/30. Normally $395… it’s $195. Might want to pass along to friends who don’t know just how great DP is.

Yes... people complained to MOTU almost immediately on their social media posts announcing this. Since MOTU doesn't really sell much in the way of other *actively supported* software, what do you suppose MOTU should offer people who already own DP?

I am still on dp 7.24…
A special price for the upgrade to Dp 11 will be nice😊
I also have mach V 1.2
Ethno 1.01
I will also love to upgrade..

Motu don’t do any special price for people like me..

Don’t they have special upgrade pricing that is about the same? Or you want even more of a discount from what they already do for an upgrade? Seems like you’ve passed on DP8, DP9 and DP10 upgrades so don’t know how much they could discount skipping that many versions?

Well, the DP upgrade is $195 no matter how old your version. As James has pointed out, you've skipped three already.

Since Entho and MachFive include code sourced from UVI, I will recommend doing what many of us have done and write to UVI Sales to see if they will offer crossgrade pricing to Falcon 2 (BF Sale $249) from Mach Five:
https://www.uvi.net/falcon.html

and/or World Suite 2 (BF Sale $209) from Ethno. Ethno 2 upgrade is $179 from MOTU. You should consider WS2 from UVI an upgrade from that.
https://www.uvi.net/world-suite-2

Your versions are pretty old so I have no idea if they will nor what the price(s) would be. I do know that Falcon purchases include a $100 voucher so you want to do that first.

Anyway, those of us who have written in the past have received good offers from to crossgrade from MachFive 3.

Agreed. The UVI folks seem to be very reasonable about this and it behooves them to increase their user base as well.
