No optical signal into Pro Audio Control- RESOLVED

I'm using an 828mkII as an optical expander into an 8pre-es. I'm still working thru the rather significant (for me, anyway) learning curve of this new device, but I've had them synced up successfully before, feeding a full 8 channels into the 8pre-es, with full control thru Pro Audio Control. Today, although the meters on the front panel of the 8pre-es show a strong optical signal coming in from all optical inputs, there is no signal shown anywhere in the router or various mixing windows of Pro Audio Control. There is also no analog output thru headphones or monitors on either the 8pre-es or 828mkII, although in ADAT expander mode, the headphones are likely disabled on the 828. I'm using a late 2011 MacBookPro, 8,3, Core i7 with 16 gig of ram and an iPad Air 2.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Note-- The headphones on the 828mkII will work if they are assigned to an optical ouput. Unfortunately, that doesn't help my problem any.

Do you have the es optical inputs assigned to anything in the Routing Matrix?

They are all routed to the 8pre-es's onboard mixer, In 9, In 10, etc.

It's a Duh! moment. I had it connected thru optical B, rather than A, and didn't have B enabled in Pro Audio Control.
